Appearing on Alex Jones’ “InfoWars” program, Kanye West recently said,
“I see good things about Hitler. Jewish people are not going to tell me: ‘You can’t say out loud that this person ever [sic] did anything good.’ I’m done with that. I like Hitler. The Jewish media has made us feel like Nazis and Hitler, [and] have never offered us anything of value to the world.”
Kanye is widely known as a mentally disturbed multi-millionaire Black male entertainer whose fortune came in large part from sales of athletic footwear following modest recording successes, and now prefers to be called “Ye,” who continues supporting degenerate racist Republican madman and chronically habitual liar, the chiseler-swindler-thief, former POTUS and election-denier-in-chief, Donald Trump.
Kanye has increasingly and very publicly exhibited bizarrely erratic behavior on full display through various online social media accounts, in other public venues and ways, in 2016 and 2019 was hospitalized because of psychiatric emergency, and in 2016 was diagnosed with bipolar disorder about which he has publicly spoken, though he denied it in a public White House Oval Office meeting with the 45th President in October 2018 claiming that he was merely “sleep deprived,” yet months earlier claimed bipolar disorder was “my superpower” and on his June 2018 album cover of “Ye,” scrawled “I hate being Bi-Polar its awesome.”
His deteriorated mental health condition is painfully obvious to even the most casual of observers, and with the 2010 production of an album named “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy,” in conjunction with his on-again-off-again denial of the reality of his disease, refusal to treat his disease with medications, in combination with a very public divorce involving four children, his life has become an unsightly public disgrace at best, and a laughingstock and open mockery at worse.
“InfoWars” is a moronic madhouse media show of radicalized right-wing extremist conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, who, despite multi-billion dollar civil judgements against him for deliberately promoting lies, continues producing his show, and has most recently filed bankruptcy in Texas following the civil judgments against him.
Alex foists numerous mind-boggling insane rants, including most notably and tragically, that the 2012 mindless mass murder massacre of 20 6-and-7 year old children, 7 adults at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut — and his mother in her home — was a “false flag” staged stunt, a hoax performed by actors perpetrated by the Federal government in an attempt to outlaw assault weapons. Alex Jones’ lies in turn caused his followers to harass the grieving parents & siblings, including an FBI agent who had responded to the scene. The 20-year-old perpetrator Adam Lanza committed suicide on site using the AR-15 style rifle fitted with several 30 round magazines which he used to kill the children, teachers, and his mother.
Alex Jones, Donald Trump, and Kanye West… those 3 men alone are IRREFUTABLE PROOF POSITIVE that America is much, much, much more gravely mentally ill than previously imagined, that the depths of depravity which they represent are but a mere scratch on the surface, the veritable tip of the proverbial iceberg, perhaps much like the one which sank the allegedly “unsinkable” luxury cruise ship “Titanic,” again, which ironically occurred after striking an iceberg on its 1912 maiden voyage.
But we could add a 4th: Herschel Walker, another man with a well-known mentally-disordered psychiatric disorder who is equally well known for his chronically habitual lying, spousal/partner abuse, and wholesale denial that anything is wrong with him.
Having been manipulated into becoming a candidate for Georgia’s U.S. Senate seat under the Republican banner by the former 45th President, Hershel Walker appears to have violated Georgia election law by claiming to be a Georgia Resident and voting in the state’s Republican primary and the Georgia November 2022 General Election, while simultaneously taking a homestead tax deduction in Texas, though “the place where he stays” is his wife’s house in Georgia.
Herschel Walker is an equally VERY SICK, SICKman, who is also a known chronic pathological liar, spousal abuser, philanderer, manipulator and all-around psychopath… much like the 45th POTUS.
BUT!
Do you know what MUCH, MUCH — even EXCEEDINGLY — worse?
A people who either cannot see, or refuse to see, the depths of Herschel Walker’s depravity and utter lack of character qualities befitting such an office, which on their face are innately inherent moral disqualifications, or either are so blindly stuck on the GOP that they’d vote for a warm piece of shit, instead of anyone else, just because it’s under the Republican banner.
Yet those sick men’s cult members cannot themselves be blamed for perpetrating and promulgating such mass evil. Their enablers are Read the rest of this entry »

Let’s pretend that you’re an “anti-vaxxer,” that for whatever insane reason, you’re not going to ever receive any FREE COVID-19 vaccination.
Let’s also pretend that you get infected with COVID-19.
And, we’ll further pretend that because of the infection, you get really, really, really sick — as in “intubated in the ICU” sick.
Should you even be there? Should you even be treated, or cared for? Should anyone have mercy upon you because you made the decision to NOT receive (reject) a FREE vaccine? After all, you’re just wasting oxygen, and taking up space.
Shouldn’t the resources that are being expended upon you, and your care (because you didn’t care enough to get vaccinated), be expended upon others who did? After all, you made the conscious decision to NOT care enough about yourself, or others, to get vaccinated.
Freedom is not, nor has it ever been, an “I’ll do what I want, where I want, when I want, how I want, because I can” type of proposition.

The United States’ Intelligence Community (IC), whose members are enumerated and linked below, collaborated upon an investigation on the source, and cause (root cause analysis), and origin of the virus that causes COVID-19, the SARS-CoV-2. For the greatest part, their assessment is complete, though undoubtedly, portions of it will remain ongoing for an unknown time being.
Their conclusions were recently de-classified, and released to the general public, and published online.
Their 1.25 page summary assessment follows, below the enumeration of IC members & agency/organization links.

Things aren’t looking good for those working in American healthcare.
American healthcare will likely never be the same again. But, that matter aside, if folks are quitting en masse, who’ll “call the shots”?
As I have sadly maintained, MANY MORE need to die from COVID-19 — MANY, MANY more. Perhaps at least 3 to 4 times more, or even more, because apparently, at least 766,232 known COVID-19 related deaths in America are hardly enough, and more likely in excess of 900,000 still isn’t nearly enough. Folks don’t “believe” enough. When death touches very close to home, it will make a believer out of many of those foolish deniers.
And in fact, researchers from:
• Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), from the
• University of Washington’s Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME), and
two independent researchers from
• Medical Development and Scientific/Clinical Affairs, Pfizer Vaccines, Collegeville, Pennsylvania and Center for Observational and Real-World Evidence, Merck & Co Inc, Kenilworth, New Jersey,
have all independently found that reported deaths from COVID-19 in the United States, and globally, have been significantly under-reported and underestimated.
The essence of what they all independently did was to compare the typical average, to-be-expected death rate, to the presently reported death rate from COVID-19, and added the two figures.
Researchers have independently found that the COVID-19 pandemic has caused at least 6.9 million deaths worldwide, twice the number officially reported.
The IHME estimated total COVID-19 deaths by comparing anticipated deaths from all causes based on pre-pandemic trends with the actual number of all deaths caused during the pandemic.

COVID-19 wins again!
On July 20, Josh Tidmore, an otherwise healthy 36-year-old Alabama man, came home from work with “a slight cough” and at the time, thought it was just “sinus trouble.”
By August 11 — a mere 23 days later — he was dead.
He leaves behind a 35-year old widow, Christina, and 3 orphaned children.
Josh Tidmore, an otherwise heathy 30-year old Alabama man didn’t last 30 days against COVID-19
Josh believed the lies he read on Facebook about the coronavirus, and unwisely thought he was “healthy enough” to overcome it. Christina said that neither one of them “knew anyone who got real sick from COVID, and figured we would be ‘OK.'”
Was she ever wrong.
Deadly wrong.
Christina explained their reluctance to get vaccinated, in part, by saying,“It wasn’t a political thing, we didn’t want to because we didn’t want to; and the information is such a fight right now, and we thought we were young and healthy it will be okay, and we will wait to see if there is better information.”
There wasn’t.
Christina, who was neither vaccinated, had earlier contracted COVID and recovered. Josh wasn’t so lucky.
Christina and Josh both tested positive for COVID-19 on July 26, and then quarantined for two weeks.
A few days later, Josh was admitted to Marshall Medical Centers South, in Marshall County, AL, and from there, he only got worse.
Christina’s traumatic “wake-up call” came at the hospital when she witnessed Josh die from cardiac arrest, directly caused by the deterioration of his lungs from the COVID-19 infection.
Christina saw and heard Dr. Jenna Carpenter, MD, a Critical Care Pulmonologist who, with her team was caring for Josh, “run a ‘code'” on Josh — medical parlance for ‘his heart stopped beating, so we’re going to pound on his chest until his ribs break, inject strong chemicals into his veins to irritate his heart, and then shock the beejeebers out of him… all in the hope that his heart will decide to start beating once again.’

Dr. Carlos Chaccour, PhD
Dr. Carlos Chaccour, PhD, Assistant Research Professor, Barcelona Institute for Global Health, and Chief Scientific Officer of the Unitaid-funded BOHEMIA consortium project in Barcelona, Spain, is a scientist and researcher whose primary area of scientific interest is with Emerging Viruses, Malaria, and Coronavirus.
For the last 10 years, his most intense professional focus has been upon “the development of mosquito-killing drugs (endectocides) as complementary vector control strategy for malaria control and elimination.” In fact, the specific area in which he “obtained his PhD in 2015, was working with slow-release ivermectin formulations for that purpose.”
Their critical examination was in response to efforts by healthcare professionals and officials in the nations of Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay, and Colombia who suddenly began taking an unusual interest in ivermectin, and using it on COVID-19 patients in their respective nations. Those nations’ officials were motivated, in large part by a since-retracted, and debunked manuscript initially placed on a “preprint server,” a website which publishes online, a full draft of research which has not yet been validated by the peer-review process. The respected healthcare/medical science journal Lancet, which has been continually published since 1823 with the objective to improve people’s lives, states that “a preprint is a version of a scientific manuscript posted on a public server prior to any formal peer review.”
Specifically, Dr. Chaccour and colleagues examined antiviral research published June 2020 in Science Direct entitled “The FDA-approved drug ivermectin inhibits the replication of SARS-CoV-2 in vitro,” i.e., in glass, such as test tube, beaker, or Petri dish, which was performed early in April by Australian researchers Leon Caly, Victorian Infectious Diseases Reference Laboratory, Royal Melbourne Hospital, At the Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity, Victoria, Australia, Julian D. Druce, Senior Medical Scientist in the Virus Identification Laboratory of the Victorian Infectious Diseases Reference Laboratory, et al, which “used concentrations that are not readily achieved in the human body” but raised enough interesting questions that further investigation was warranted, and because of “the drug’s excellent safety profile and lack of effective treatment for COVID-19.”
In response to their critical examination, and genuine questions about the techniques and methods, they wrote a guest editorial entitled “Ivermectin and COVID-19: Keeping Rigor in Times of Urgency” which was Read the rest of this entry »

If coronavirus disease could talk, that’s what it would say.
Because right now, those whom have resisted getting vaccinated are largely conservative White Republican men.
A recent poll conducted by Monmouth University’s Polling Insitute found that 73% of self-identified Republicans oppose face mask and social distancing guidelines in their state, while 16% of those who remain vehemently opposed to getting the vaccine “believe Covid is a hoax or they are unlikely to get infected. Which means there may be very little that can be done at this point to change their minds,” said Patrick D. Murray, Founding Director of Monmouth University’s independent Polling Institute. Among those who admit they will not get the vaccine if they can avoid it, 70% either identify with or lean toward the Republican Party, and only 29% of Republicans blame vaccine opposition for most of the recent rise in COVID-19 infection cases.
Ron DeSantis (b.1978), Republican Governor of Florida since January 8, 2019, barely defeated Andrew Gillum, the Democratic Mayor of Tallahassee by a margin of 0.4%. At age 42, he is the nation’s youngest governor.
And they’re dying like flies in places like Florida, where Republican Governor Ron DeSantis — who himself is vaccinated with the Johnson & Johnson/Janssen single-dose viral vector-type vaccine — has steadfastly refused to do anything to protect his state’s citizens from the ravages of coronavirus disease infection, and has staunchly refused mandating face/nose covering use in public spaces, and even recently signed an executive orderPROHIBITING school districts from requiring staff and students to wear protective masks.
That, as news of findings published by the CDC of an outbreak in Provincetown, Barnstable County, Massachusetts – a resort town and summertime getaway location on the tip of Cape Cod – occurring among fully-inoculated individuals after participating in summer events and large public gatherings between July 3 and July 17, in which 469 cases of COVID-19 infection were identified among Massachusetts residents who had traveled there, of which 346 (74%) occurred in fully vaccinated persons. Testing identified the Delta variant in 90% of specimens from 133 patients.

“I’m admitting young healthy people to the hospital with very serious COVID infections. One of the last things they do before they’re intubated is beg me for the vaccine. I hold their hand and tell them that ‘I’m sorry, but it’s too late’.
“A few days later when I call time of death, I hug their family members and I tell them the best way to honor their loved one is to go get vaccinated and encourage everyone they know to do the same.
“They cry. And they tell me they didn’t know. They thought it was a hoax. They thought it was political. They thought because they had a certain blood type or a certain skin color they wouldn’t get as sick. They thought it was ‘just the flu.’
“So they thank me and they go get the vaccine. And I go back to my office, write their death note, and say a small prayer that this loss will save more lives.

Let them die.
I’m sick and goddamn tired of their INSANE conspiratorial bullshit.
LET THEM DIE.
“Actions have consequences,” they’re frequently fond of saying, and then perversely take some sense of pride in portraying themselves as “victim” — a role which they have gleefully derided and mocked over the years as they attempt to justify their various perverse positions.
Now, they want to assume that very role.
LET THEM DIE.
They mistakenly think that they’ll be some kind of pretend political “hero” for their imaginary “lost cause.” Heroes almost always end up dead.
LET THEM DIE.
Everyone has a proverbial and practical expiration date, and just like milk and other dairy products, which can be soured relatively quickly or ruined prematurely if not properly cared for by refrigeration, so can the human body be ruined if improperly cared for by smoking, excessive consumption of food and/or beverage alcohol intake, sedentary lifestyle, lopsided dietary intake, regular consumption of nutritionally deficient foods, and other forms of improper and inadequate care, including deliberate neglect, and wanton failure to prevent malfunction and disease.
LET THEM DIE.
Physicians cannot, and will not, treat patients who refuse to cooperate with the course of treatment.
LET THEM DIE.
Engrave upon their headstones “s/he wanted, and chose to die from a preventable disease.”
LET THEM DIE.
LET THEM DIE.
In The Last Mile Of Our Battle Against COVID, The Enemy Is Us
Time may have come for more aggressive tactics on vaccinations.
In a scene from the movie “The Matrix,” revered by conspiracy theorists, the hero is offered a choice between the blue pill of comforting illusions and the red pill that offers nothing more than the truth.
The correct answer, of course, is the red pill that reveals the hidden forces that control the world.
These days, Americans are being offered an even more fateful binary choice.

Recently, I got to wondering about why some folks haven’t fully embraced the COVID-19 vaccines available in the United States. “Fully embraced” as in a significant majority of folks who have received it nationwide. That includes the naysayers, most folks in the South, certain Republicans, and some others… including — believe it, or else — some healthcare professionals. Anti-vaxxers are excluded, of course, because they’re against every vaccine. Idiots.
Would that there were one for stupidity. It should be mandatory at birth, and for everyone. Maybe if it were called a “smart pill,” that’d help. We have “smart phones,” and plenty of dumb people. It just isn’t right.
But I digress.
Some folks have said that they don’t “trust” the vaccines, for one reason, or another. So far, no one’s been abducted by aliens after receiving a COVID-19 vaccine, and that I’m aware, no one’s hair has tried to call Bill Gates after they received a COVID-19 vaccine. But Congress and the Department of Defense have released videos of what we once called “UFOs” – Unidentified Flying Objects. Now they’re called UAPs — Unidentified Aerial Phenomena. But I still like UFO. Still, no one knows what they are. Hence, the name. And quite fortunately, there’ve been no reports of folks growing tails and swinging from trees afterward, either. But doubtless, some have eaten bananas. Point for lower primates: 15 – love.
So we’ve moved from the known (stupid folks who don’t get vaccinated), to the unknown (mysterious video imagery of UFOs making some very impressive maneuvers).

Update Sunday, 04 July 2021: Martha Raddatz, co-host of ABC’s “This Week” news program, interviewed Democrat-turned-Republican West Virginia Governor Jim Justice about his state’s low vaccination compliance rate which aired today. The following dialogue occurred:
Raddatz: “Do you really think those people who aren’t vaccinated — who as you said may be more conservative, may not want anybody in their business — are really ever going to get vaccinated? What could actually put them over the edge to want it at this point?”
Justice: “Well, Martha, I hate to say this, is what would put them over the edge, is an awful lot of people die. The only way that’s going to happen is a catastrophe that none of us want.”
Raddatz: “Let’s go back to who’s not getting vaccinated. The statistics will show it’s poverty, race and you just look at the map — it’s a lot of red states.”
Justice: “Well, I mean, there’s some truth to that and everything. Because, you know, the red states probably have a lot of people that, you know, are very, very conservative in their thinking. And they think, ‘Well, I don’t have to do that.’ But they’re not thinking right.
“When it really boils right down to it, they’re in a lottery to themselves. We have a lottery, you know, that basically says, ‘If you’re vaccinated, we’re going to give you stuff.’ Well you’ve got another lottery going on, and it’s the death lottery.”
The “Angel of Death” has much more work to do
—
with children, teens, and adults.
With at least 33,677,411 confirmed cases – the most in all the world – at least 605,010 known U.S. deaths – again, the most in all the world – untold numbers of hospitalizations, and the perilously close collapse of the U.S. healthcare system, human suffering from the novel Coronavirus Disease-2019 (SARS-CoV-2) has not nearly reached its apex in the United States.
MORE people – particularly, and especially children – need to suffer and die.
It’s difficult to feel any scintilla of sorrow, or even scant sympathy for stupid people wantonly negligent and abusive parents who willingly expose their children and themselves to diseases and other preventable dangers.
That big ol’ knot at the end of your neck is supposed to be used for something else other than a hat rack. And for those who claim faith, especially the so-called “Evangelical” community, you dishonor your Maker when you refuse to exercise any brainpower – which is a gift to you, to Creation, and all of humanity, even though you don’t act like it, and wastefully squander it.
And, your fatalistic fait accompli that your “God will provide,” or surreptitious claims that infection and/or resultant death “is God’s will” is not merely baneful, pernicious, and malignant, it is wholly, fully, and entirely contrary to good and common sense, and orthodox theology.
In other words, you’re AFU – All Fucked Up. Soon enough, you’ll be FUBAR’d – Fucked Up Beyond All Recognition.
So-called “American exceptionalism” isn’t so “exceptional” – especially among Republicans, Trump voters, and other such idiots morons.
So, please…whatever you ilk decide to do, PLEASE, DO NOT GET VACCINATED – not yourself, not your children, and BY ALL MEANS, NOT just against COVID-19, but against ANY disease.
“Actions have consequences,” I believe is the saying.
Yet so do inactions.
And “tough love” to you.
Thoughts and prayers…
Thoughts and prayers.
Nearly 100 Teens & Adults COVID-19 Positive At Illinois Church Summer Camp
Crossing Camp, a Christian summer camp operated for children and teens in west central Illinois near Rushville, in rural Schuyler County, has been forced to close prematurely this year following a COVID-19 “outbreak” which has so far infected very nearly 100 children, teens, and adults across 3 states.
Crossing Camp is owned and operated by an independent Protestant, Evangelical multi-campus church called “The Crossing” which main campus is in Quincy, IL, and has attendance of approximately 10,000 members weekly on several campuses in Illinois, Missouri and Iowa.
The entire camp, their staff, and all guests are now considered “super spreaders” after at least 50 COVID-19 cases were first confirmed June 23 by Pike County Public Health officials with the Health Department after camp members’ traveled to a nearby conference, which became the super spreader event.
The day prior, Tuesday, June 22, 2021, the Schuyler County Health Department notified the public about a super spreader exposure event to the COVID-19 virus at the camp which occurred from June 13 through June 17.
Two days later, on June 24, the Adams County Health Department was alerted to a COVID-19 super spreader exposure event in Adams County where a conference sponsored by The Crossing church was held on June 18th and 19th. It was the second such public health warning directly associated with The Crossing church.
USA Today was among the first to report the massive infection that spread among children and has left one teen hospitalized so far, news which has since “gone viral” and been reported by numerous news outlets.
The Schuyler County Health Department told CNN that their Public Health officials had worked with camp staffers “to provide guidance and mitigate the situation.”
The Illinois Department of Health (IDPH) first found that 85 attendees and volunteers at Crossing Camp tested positive for COVID-19, and that only a “handful” of campers and volunteers had received any vaccine against the disease. Since the first report, the number of infected people has since increased to 96, and public health officials expect an untold number more.
State Public Health records indicate that Indiana’s Schuyler and Adams counties, where Crossing Camp and The Crossing conference are located, only have a 40% COVID-19 vaccination rate, while statewide in Illinois, only 46.1% of the population is fully vaccinated.

Houston Methodist Hospital, a not-for-profit 8-hospital system – 4 of which are ANCC Nursing Magnet status accredited – and academic medical center, with over 2502 beds in the Houston, Texas metro area, has publicly announced that they will fire any employee who refuses to get a COVID-19 vaccination.
The Houston Press and Houston Chronicle reported today, Thursday, 22 April 2021, that Bob Nevens, the hospital chain’s Director of Corporate Risk and Insurance, and Jennifer Bridges, a Houston Methodist Registered Nurse at the system’s Baytown facility, are on schedule to be fired soon if they don’t comply by obtaining a COVID-19 vaccine within the hospital system’s deadline of June 7, 2021.
Dr. Marc L. Boom, MD, the hospital system’s CEO, had the idea to require all employees to get vaccinated against COVID-19 in order to keep their jobs, and offered $500 incentive bonuses to any employee who demonstrated proof of vaccination. Houston Methodist was the first hospital system nationally to make COVID-19 vaccination mandatory for employees.
Houston Methodist Hospital
And to this point, a clear majority – 84% – of the hospital system’s 26,000 employees have received at least 1 COVID-19 vaccine dose as of Tuesday this week, according to Houston Methodist’s Director of Public Relations Stefanie Asin.
Houston Methodist’s Human Resources Department has stated that the hospital system will consider requests from employees who don’t want to be vaccinated for medical or for religious reasons.
However, neither Mr. Nevens nor Nurse Bridges are refusing COVID vaccination on those grounds. And neither Mr. Nevens, who is a 10-year hospital system employee, nor Nurse Bridges, who is a 7-year employee, consider themselves “anti-vaxxers,” and both have for many years received the annual influenza vaccine.
Mr. Nevens and Nurse Bridges have both said that their reluctance to receive COVID-19 vaccinations arises fromtheir concerns with the vaccines’ emergency approval by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, rather than the more well-known and much lengthier standard, traditional, and much more well-known approval process.
Nurse Bridges said that as a Registered Nurse, “I’ve taken every vaccine you’re ever supposed to take. We just want more Read the rest of this entry »

After denying its existence, the washed-up once-upon-a-time rock musician, pedophile, and Motor City Moron
Ted Nugent has announced that he has become infected with COVID-19.
Not COVID 18, COVID 17, COVID 16, COVID 15, but COVID-19.
Perhaps this is Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure, v2.0, eh?
Y’know, deep within, I had a feeling that it would only be a very short matter of time before he changed his tune… after becoming infected.
And sure ‘nuff… that’s what happened!
Musician Ted Nugent said yesterday, Monday 19 April 2021, that he tested positive for COVID-19 and had been experiencing intensely severe symptoms, even though he called the pandemic a “hoax” in the recent past.
During a FaceBook Live broadcast yesterday he said, “I was tested positive today. Everybody told me I should not announce this, but can you hear it, I have had flu symptoms for the last 10 days and I thought I was dying. I got the Chinese shit. Just a clusterfuck. I got a stuffed up head, body aches… oh my god, what a pain in the ass. I literally can hardly crawl out of bed, the last few days but I did. I crawled.”
[When faced with stark reality, suddenly, his tune changed. Fascinating.]

Yes, we all know that they’re jerkwads.
They also believe that the moon is made of green cheese, and that POS45 won re-election. That’s why he’s not in the White House – he’s on permanent vacation pooping into one of his golden toilets at his Palm Beach, FL resort, and playing golf. Because that’s what winners do, right?
And lie about practically everything. He’s a liar, so that almost goes without saying.
He deceived the American public – or, at least attempted to deceive the American public – about getting a vaccination against COVID-19 before leaving the White House.

Welcome to the “new” reality.
But, just for a moment, let’s play “What if?”
What if the United States’ failed response (because of the inactions and deliberate failures of the previous administration) was the primary cause of the mutated, more virulent variants?
It’s entirely plausible.
Otherwise, how to explain that the United States, with the world’s 3rd most populous nation – China and India each have WELL OVER 1 BILLION MORE – has ABSOLUTELY THE WORLD’S WORST COVID-19 INFECTION RATE?
Other nations, most notably New Zealand, have had phenomenal success in keeping the disease at bay, relatively speaking, as have a few other nations, including China, India, Greenland, Australia, other Scandinavian nations, and… well, you get the picture.
Perhaps there should’ve been a sign:

If you think healthcare is expensive now, wait until ALL those with COVID-19 start getting sick as they age, after the Banana Republicans trash the “preexisting condition” healthcare provision in the PPACA, and insurance companies return to “cherry picking” and denials.
Won’t that be more fun than a barrelful of monkeys?!
COVID-19’s Long-Term Harms: What We Don’t Know Yet Could Hurt Us
Infectious diseases have afflicted humans for hundreds of thousands of years, shaping communities and cultures. The ways pathogens affect human health have been studied extensively for decades. We have learned that any given microorganism can be protean, or capable of changing, in its manifestations — from patients who experience no symptoms at all, to those who become acutely ill yet recover fully, to those who suffer chronic infection and live with the ever-present threat of deteriorating health.
In stark contrast, we have coexisted only one year with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2, the virus that causes coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), and are still learning the diverse ways this novel virus affects human health. During the first week of December, the National Institutes of Health convened a two-day workshop involving public health officials, medical researchers, and patients dedicated to discussing the post-acute health consequences of COVID-19. One of the primary goals of the meeting — to provide a definition for the long-term sequelae, or health consequences and symptoms, following acute COVID-19 — proved elusive. Variably termed “chronic COVID,” “long haulers” and “long COVID” by physicians, patients and the media, whatever you call it, the protracted symptom complex following COVID-19, seemingly affecting all organ systems, has emerged as an unanticipated, devastating outcome of the pandemic.
The earliest data out of Europe and the United States painted a concerning picture: The majority of hospitalized patients remained symptomatic weeks or months after their acute illness, the most common symptoms being fatigue and shortness of breath in approximately half of patients studied. Even patients who were never hospitalized had persistent symptoms several weeks later. Over ensuing months, the full gamut of persistent symptoms emerged, ranging from chronic fatigue, sleep disturbance, cognitive impairment, fast heart rates and exercise intolerance. The exact incidence of these symptoms and their time-course Read the rest of this entry »

Larry Dixon
Larry Dixon, a longtime Republican Alabama State Senator, who for many years also chaired the Alabama Board of Medical Examiners died from COVID-19 last week, aged 78.
Dr. David Thrasher, MD, a Critical Care Pulmonologist (lung doctor) in the state’s capitol city of Montgomery, who was Dixon’s longtime friend and treated him in the early stages of the disease, said Dixon was exposed to the coronavirus at a social gathering “with a couple of guys” that was hosted outside about two weeks ago.
And while he was unsure how many people attended, Dr. Thrasher said he knew of two other men who attended the meetup and tested positive.
Dr. Thrasher also said that Larry’s wife Gaynell Dixon also contracted COVID-19 and is still recovering. He also said the couple has two daughters who both contracted the virus earlier this year and have recovered, and so far, do not appear to have been reinfected by their parents.
Dr. Thrasher spoke with Dixon’s wife Gaynell before Larry was placed on a ventilator, and said that Larry’s family wanted to let The People of Alabama know his last words:
“We messed up.
We let our guard down.
Please tell everybody to be careful,
and take this thing seriously.
This is real,
and if you get diagnosed,
get help immediately.”

Laws punishing drunk, or impaired driving are based upon principles of public health and public safety. That is to say, laws forbidding and punishing drunk driving are based historically upon the damages, injuries, and deaths caused by those who have driven while intoxicated.
At some point, The People refused to be abused and victimized any longer, stood up, and resoundingly said ‘NO MORE!‘, and passed legislation making such behavior and associated acts a serious crime. In some states, it’s not uncommon to read of individuals charged with DUI, who are also charged with the felonies of either murder, or criminally negligent homicide in cases where their actions resulted in the death of another.
Have laws against DUI stopped the offense or eliminated the injuries, damages, and deaths associated with the same?
No, but they have so significantly reduced them to the extent that such offenses and their associated damages are now the exception, rather than the rule.
The same principle applies to tobacco use, and smoking. It is a known carcinogen, and its consumption and use is a well-documented cause of numerous types of cancers, associated diseases, suffering, and early death – most notably recently, renown guitarist Eddie Van Halen, who died of metastatic oral cancer contracted from smoking aged 65.
Consequently, taxes upon tobacco have been increased in many areas, and places where its consumption is permitted is severely limited.
And so, now, we have COVID to deal with. Fundamentally, as far as the net effect – death, damage, and destruction – how is that any different? Seriously. Well over 250,000 lives unnecessarily lost in LESS THAN THE SPACE OF A YEAR, and with well over 13,000,000 cases, the good ol’ USA is the world’s NUMBER 1 repository of COVID-19… by far!
Yaay!
Thanks (for nothing) Trump!
COVID-19, Masks and the Freedom to Drive Drunk
By Andrew Koppelman, Opinion Contributor

Does freedom mean the right to refuse to wear a mask during the COVID-19 pandemic? Many Americans think so. It is President Trump’s most important legacy. Here’s one implication that is too little noticed: If that is what freedom means, then we owe drunk drivers an apology.
The idea is shaping our world. Ignoring urgent expert advice, an Idaho health board recently rescinded its mask mandate, while 100 new cases were reported in one day and the local hospital was running out of beds. (A couple of weeks later, it reversed itself and imposed the mandate.) The board member who led the change explained, “I agree we have a problem with this virus, but at the same time I object to the mandate the board passed because it restricts people’s right of choice and ability to comply or not comply under penalty of law.” Another member said, “I personally do not care whether anybody wears a mask or not. If they want to be dumb enough to walk out there and expose themselves or others to it, they can.” The story was reported in the Daily Beast under the headline, “This really happened.”
This is a new and unfamiliar conception of freedom. Some people, notably New York Times columnist Paul Krugman, have blamed libertarianism for this stuff, but the standard libertarian story is that people have the right to do what they want as long as they don’t hurt anyone else. Now we are told that they have a right of choice even if they do hurt other people.
But, if you’re concerned about masks’ infringement on individual liberty, then why endure DWI (driving while intoxicated) laws? Masks are a lot cheaper than the cabfare home from the tavern, and then there’s the Read the rest of this entry »

Trump Lost.
Joe Biden and ABC were the BIG WINNERS in Thursday night’s “split screen America” debate.
Biden’s Q & A Town Hall meeting Thursday, October 15, 2020 with voters was held in Philadelphia’s National Constitution Center with George Stephanopoulos moderating. Both men, and all attendees were more than adequately distanced for public health reasons.
Meanwhile, Trump’s Town Hall was conducted outdoors at the Perez Art Museum in Miami, and was moderated by NBC’s Savannah Guthrie, a Georgetown Law graduate who was distanced at least 12 feet from the President.
But it turns out NBC was played for a fool by the Manipulator in Chief.
Trump lost.
NBC lost.
After initially rejecting the Commission on Presidential Debates offer to conduct a “virtual” town hall, Trump reached out to NBC to hold the town hall style meeting on the same day and time slot as Joe Biden’s appearance in Philadelphia in a direct head-to-head viewership challenge to feed his fragile ego.
Yashar Ali, a contributor to New York Magazine and HuffPost wrote that several NBC employees were angered, and that “over a dozen NBC, MSNBC, and CNBC sources (talent and staff) and the frustration with and anger toward their employer for scheduling a town hall against Biden is palpable.”
Trump lost.
NBC lost.
NBC News agreed to put Trump before voters in a town hall style event on Thursday, October 15 – the same day as Biden’s scheduled town hall in Philadelphia – stipulating that beforehand, he must have submitted to an independent coronavirus test with the results reviewed by Dr. Anthony Fauci.
NBC said that Trump was administered a coronavirus test Tuesday by the National Institutes of Health, the results of which were reviewed by NIH Clinical Director Dr. Clifford Lane and Dr. Anthony Fauci, both who stated after reviewing the President’s medical records, that they had a high degree of confidence that the president was “not shedding infectious virus.”
But Trump’s COVID-19 test wasn’t the only thing reviewed.

You KNOW things are serious when a majority of physicians, scientists, researchers and others come out against a political leader, especially and particularly the President… when they’ve NEVER DONE IT BEFORE.
America has NOT been made “great again” by our feckless misleader, the Liar in Chief, Donald John Trump.
It’s time to TAKE OUT THE TRASH IN NOVEMBER!
In an uncharacteristic move, The New England Journal of Medicine recently took a step which they have not since their 1812 founding.
A scathing editorial signed by all 34 editors of the publication – physicians, scientists, health researchers, and medical experts – acknowledged that in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the President and his administration have “taken a crisis and turned it into a tragedy.”
The group minced no words in their scorching criticism of the President and his administration for their abysmal, still-ongoing failures which have claimed at least 212,466 lives, and counting, by writing that “Instead of relying on expertise, the administration has turned to uninformed ‘opinion leaders’ and charlatans who obscure the truth and facilitate the promulgation of outright lies.”
Solution being carefully poured into a petri dish that sits under a micro scope. A medical scientist wearing glasses can be seen concentrating as he pours from the glass flask. Selective focus.
Noting that physicians and other healthcare professionals face the possibility of lawsuits, and loss of license for such malpractice, they acknowledged that the nation’s solitary recourse for political malfeasance is to vote him out of office, and wrote that, “Anyone else who recklessly squandered lives and money in this way would be suffering legal consequences. Our leaders have largely claimed immunity for their actions. But this election gives us the power to render judgment.”
They cited America’s Trump-led failures and wrote that in comparison to other nations, “We have failed at almost every step. We had ample warning, but when the disease first arrived, we were incapable of testing effectively and Read the rest of this entry »

Alternate headline: Trump Fucks Over America
“I have instructed my representatives to stop negotiating until after the election when, immediately after I win, we will pass a major Stimulus Bill that focuses on hardworking Americans and Small Business,” Tweeted his highness, the Twitterer in Chief, and Chief Twidiot on Twitter the day after returning from a weekend hospital stay at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center where he was treated for COVID-19.
His hypocrisy marks a 180° reversal from the weekend when Trump pushed for negotiators to reach an agreement, telling them to “GET IT DONE.”
The SOB in Chief just cut his own throat -and- that of every other GOPer in every down-ballot race in America.
He CONTINUES to shoot himself in the feet, and America in the head and back – execution style.
Expect a🌊BLUE🌊TSUNAMI🌊in November!!
By his intransigence, he has now set America on a guaranteed one-way course to GREAT DEPRESSION II.
And that EVEN AFTER Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell warned of PERMANENT economic damage if additional support was not forthcoming.

I have maintained from Day One of the emergence of this pandemic back in late December 2019, early January 2020, that there will be a “golden thread” running through it all, and that being, is that we are unwittingly marching into the veritable “promised land” of health, which is longevity, through improved well-being. The lessons learned in this coronavirus pandemic are teaching us, by experience, what we need to know to improve human health, and by extension, longevity.
Dr. Anthony S. Fauci, MD, Director, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Maryland
It will, of course, emerge as a secondary by-product of treatment, and prevention, at the tertiary level. And for that, we can all be grateful.
So, while at present, we (at least the wise ones) are taking every conceivable precaution to prevent contracting the disease, there remain stubbornly stupid individuals whom insist on ignoring science (like the President and many Republicans) and the expert recommendations of those whose life work has revolved around studying infectious disease, the most notable among which is Dr. Anthony Fauci, MD, Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the National Institutes of Health, in Bethesda, Maryland.
Why Do Some People Weather Coronavirus Infection Unscathed?
One of the reasons Covid-19 has spread so swiftly around the globe is that for the first days after infection, people feel healthy. Instead of staying home in bed, they may be out and about, unknowingly passing the virus along. But in addition to these pre-symptomatic patients, the relentless silent spread of this pandemic is also facilitated by a more mysterious group of people: the so-called asymptomatics.
According to various estimates, between 20 and 45 percent of the people who get Covid-19 — and possibly more, according to a recent study from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention — sail through a coronavirus infection without realizing they ever had it. No fever or chills. No loss of smell or taste. No breathing difficulties. They don’t feel a thing.
Asymptomatic cases are not unique to Covid-19. They occur with the regular flu, and probably also featured in the 1918 pandemic, according to epidemiologist Neil Ferguson of Imperial College London. But scientists aren’t sure why certain people weather Covid-19 unscathed. “That is a tremendous mystery at this point,” says Donald Thea, an infectious disease expert at Boston University’s School of Public Health.

Not to worry… a cup of bleach oughta’ clear it right up!🤣 Or some hydroxychloroquine.🏴☠️ Sarcasm purposely intended.
Why does this NOT surprise anyone – not even one iota?
When it comes to the matter of the eventuality of his infection, for quite some time numerous individuals have maintained that “the booms are getting closer,” a colloquialism meaning that sooner, or later, the “booms” will find their target.

SIOUX FALLS, SD – The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has cited Smithfield Packaged Meats Corp. in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, for failing to protect employees from exposure to the coronavirus. OSHA proposed a penalty of $13,494, the maximum allowed by law.
Agency: Occupational Safety & Health Administration Date: September 10, 2020 Release Number: 20-1684-NAT
With a paltry, even laughable, mere $13,494 on the line, it’s not even a good slap on the wrist. They make that in a fraction of a second of business operations.
Remember: Smithfield Foods has NOT BEEN an American company since selling out to the Chinese in 2013. Good old fashioned Corporate American Wall $treet greed sold out America and Smithfield to China.
Wan Long, RIGHT, Chairman and CEO of WH Group, formerly called Shuanghui International, shakes hands with Charles Larry Pope, President and CEO of Smithfield Foods, at a press conference of WH Group in Hong Kong, China, 14 April 2014. Two subsidiaries of Henan Shuanghui Investment and Development Co have gained access to the Russian market, after its parent company — WH Group Ltd, the world’s largest pork producer— acquired US pork producer Smithfield Foods Inc and bought a stake in Campofrio Food Group SA of Spain, the largest pan-European packaged meat products company, last year. The two Heilongjiang-based companies — Wangkui Shuanghui Beidahuang Food Co and Heilongjiang Baoquanling Shuanghui Food Industry Co — got the official nod after their production facilities and products were examined and assessed by officials from Russia’s meat products watchdog, the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance, in August, Shuanghui Development said on its website. To widen its import market for meat, the Russian government agreed to import meat products from five Chinese suppliers by the end of August, indicating the nation has taken a flexible strategy to balance the supply and demand relationship, while the US and its European allies are trying to squeeze the country’s trade space in the world market.
And the corporate masters are STILL selling out the people. Just read their laughable response later down. They’re actually protesting the poor token of a penalty.
Seriously. They are!
Even the right-tilting tabloid New York Daily News owned by Rupert Murdoch, has written about the fractional pittance which has been assessed upon the corporation by the OSHA.
By Joseph Wilkinson, New York Daily News, September 12, 2020 at 10:12 PM
And Congress has the power to act. However, with Moscow Mitch misleading the Senate, there’ll nothing be done about anything the House sends to that traitorous rich bastard.
WH Group, formerly known as Shuanghui International, bought the venerable American company known for their hams since its 1936 inception in Smithfield, Virginia, for $4.7 billion in 2013. In fact, it was the region’s Native Americans who taught the Paleface settlers to the area the unique curing process they’d created well over 500 years ago, and which increased in popularity as time went on.
More than anything, it looks like the Loser in Chief is in cahoots with the Chinese.
I mean, after all, if he’s as big and bad on them as he claims to be, this fine would be 100x time amount to start with.
Yes, that’d be USD$1,349,400.
It’s HIGH TIME for a 75/25 rule of law!
Simply put, it goes like this:
75% of any businesses’ ownership MUST be American to enjoy a 25% corporate tax rate.
Presently, the Federal Corporate Tax Tate is set at 21%. Before the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 (the so-called “Trump tax cuts” which, true to course, benefited only the wealthy), the tax rate was 35%. I have little doubt that the law will be repealed, thus increasing the corporate tax rate.
There MUST be a punishment exacted, and penalty paid for corporations which despitefully exploit their domestic American existence!
What’s more, Congress could, and should, also enact a 60/40 rule of law, which, again, simply stated, is that for companies which are employee-owned, they must be at least 60% owned by employees – either direct, indirect (trust), or hybrid – in order to enjoy certain additional tax benefits not available to other corporate-owned businesses. By so doing, it would encourage employee ownership of businesses.
Corporate alienation and isolation from the day-to-day lives of their employees and the Average American is highly problematic, and such a rule would go a long way toward readjusting in a positive manner the lopsided and skewed income and wealth gap in the United States.
“Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), one of the most conservative members of Congress, and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), one of the most liberal, have both introduced sweeping proposals to broaden employee ownership in the U.S. That surprising fact testifies to just how practical—and urgent—this idea is.”
Mr. Rosen also pointed to 2019 research by Rutgers University which found in part, that “employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs) enable families to significantly increase their assets, shrinking—though not eliminating—gender and racial wealth gaps,” and wrote that “ESOP companies helped employees gain a better understanding not just of corporate financial issues—most ESOPs have some form of open book management—but also personal financial planning. Many companies offered employees an increased voice in how their work was organized, providing a level of personal agency lacking in most jobs.”
OSHA fines Smithfield Foods $13,494 for not protecting South Dakota workers from COVID-19, faces backlash from company and workers – Agweek
Written By: Jeremy Fugleberg
Sep 10th 2020 – 1pm.
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration has fined Smithfield Foods $13,494 for failing to protect employees at its Sioux Falls meatpacking plant from exposure to COVID-19, OSHA announced Thursday, Sept. 10, and both the company and the union that represents plant works are objecting to the decision.
The workplace safety agency said the Smithfield fine was the maximum allowed by law for the single violation it found at the plant, which for a time was one of the largest COVID-19 hotspots in the nation. OSHA cited the company for one violation of failing to provide a workplace free from recognized hazards that can cause death or serious harm.
A COVID-19 outbreak at the plant in March and April sickened 1,294 employees and killed four, OSHA said. It also sickened hundreds of family members and other close contacts to workers.
“Employers must quickly implement appropriate measures to protect their workers’ safety and health,” OSHA Sioux Falls Area Director Sheila Stanley said in a news release. “Employers must meet their obligations and take the necessary actions to prevent the spread of coronavirus at their worksite.”
The OSHA fine is “wholly without merit” and Smithfield Foods will contest it, said Keira Lombardo, the Virginia-based company’s executive vice president of corporate affairs and compliance. Read the rest of this entry »
It’s good to occasionally get a check up on oneself, or to perform – as much as possible – a self-checkup, or as some call it, “a check-up from the neck up.”
Today, the Congressional Budget Office released a report entitled “The Outlook for Major Federal Trust Funds: 2020 to 2030.”
Yet, it’s not as if we didn’t know it was coming… sooner, or later.
Kind of like the COVID-19 pandemic.
We’d been warned for years about the very real, and distinct possibilities of an outbreak of disease, and this POS45 President and his henchmen administration unwisely decided to heed bad advice given to them (most likely, issued at his heavy-handed, micromanaging god-like “expert-in-all-things” direction) and dismantled the offices and organizations, and their budgets, that were designed specifically to effectively mange such problems.
Remember: Unlike the novel coronavirus pademic, the SARS-CoV-2 which causes COVID-19, Ebola was NOT a problem in this nation, nor in the world at large, and its outbreak was contained to the immediate area precisely because of the wise actions of the previous administration. That’d be the Obama administration, in case you’ve developed amnesia, early-onset Alzheimer’s, or old-age dementia in the last 4 years… take your pick.
Just imagine if the coronavirus had been Ebola.
On second thought, don’t.
Be thankful it’s not worse… though it will likely get worse before it gets better.
The CBO report first methodically laid out an explanation about Federal Trust Funds, and then, began to discuss them one-by-one.
Fortunately, the report is easy to read, and to understand.

Preventing COVID-19 Infection
Of necessity, the introduction is somewhat wordy, simply because it’s necessary for the purposes of clarification, and understanding the topic, which can be complex to the average layperson. While it is outside the scope of this blog to treat patients, per se, the purpose in sharing this and other information, is to inform of the latest valid scientific findings. Those who read are free to treat themselves as they see fit, as is everyone. Again, the purpose in sharing these findings is to inform. –Ed.
Among professional scientific, medical, and research cadre the novel coronavirus is properly known as, and is called SARS-CoV-2. Colloquially, it’s known as COVID-19. SARS is the abbreviation for Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome, while CoV is the abbreviation for coronavirus, thus COVID is shorthand for COronaVIrus Disease, while the number 19 refers to the year in which is was first discovered. If you’re froggy enough, here’s a great read on the nomenclature.
But the point of this entry is not about the name, but about the disease, and more specifically, about preventing the disease.
And suffice it to say, that while there are naysayers who (in some cases) loudly proclaim that COVID-19 is no worse than the flu or (insert your choice of disease here _X_), or that it doesn’t affect (_X_ – insert your choice of category people group(s), young, old, middle-aged, people who live in the tropics, in Scandinavia, etc.), none of the bizarre comments or nonsensical off-the-wall “justifications” such naysayers use, none of it’s true.
Remember: Despite the unambiguously incontrovertible and overwhelming evidence that the Earth is shaped like a ball, there are some who insist that the Earth is flat.
Point being, is that there will likely always be nut cases in the world, and practically nothing that anyone says or does will change their warped, demented minds… which are like concrete – thoroughly mixed, and permanently set.
When used in the scientific medical sense, the word “novel” means new. So this coronavirus is a new type of coronavirus, meaning one which has never been seen before.
Again, not to go off the deep end (for there are plenty of people who do), but simply because a virus is new, doesn’t mean that it was “man-made” or that it was an existing virus which became “weaponized.” To make such preposterously absurd claims is not only ignorantly stupid, it is false, simply because humanity does not know everything about anything, much less everything about everything. There are plenty of things in the world that we do not know about, and there are principles in the world about which we do not now know. And in fact, there are more things about which we know little, or nothing, than there are things about which we do know.
Again, point being, is that humans aren’t “know-it-alls,” and to claim that we know practically anything the novel coronavirus is false, because we do not. Hell… we don’t even know how to treat it! The only thing we’re doing now is treating symptoms. We do the exact same thing with the common cold, for which we also have no cure, and no vaccine to prevent it.
And as regarding prevention – an ounce of which is worth a pound of cure (as the saying goes) – the only thing we can do now with the coronavirus is to MECHANICALLY prevent its spread, simply because (that we now know of) we have no ability to prevent it with a vaccine. And to be certain, when we say “mechanically” prevent its spread, we mean by physical means, by actions, not by medicine.
And that is precisely why the World Health Organization (WHO), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and other public health groups have recommended maintaining a distance of 6 feet from others while in public (aka “social distancing”), wearing a face & nose covering (mask), disposable gloves, avoiding groups of people, minimizing public outings to as great an extent as possible, along with increased hand-washing, surface cleanings (disinfecting), etc.
Because we have learned that people infected with the novel coronavirus are at least 30-50% asymptomatic (meaning that they show NO signs or symptoms of infection, not even one – which also means temperature checks at certain public places are therefore effectively USELESS at preventing spread), it is critically important to maintain the physical (mechanical) precautions (preventions) at all times when out in public.
And, because 30-50% of all persons infected with COVID-19 are asymptomatic (they do NOT show even one sign or symptom of infection), that is why 100% testing of ALL people (aka “universal testing”) is critically important.
Again, EVERYONE is on a “learning curve” with the novel coronavirus, and that means EVERYONE – all scientists, all physicians, all nurses, all researchers… EVERYONE. So no one knows it all.
Now, let’s move along toward treatment.
We’re working our way toward the topic – unlike some, or even many articles, which say nothing of any value about anything. Such articles are like saying “how to lower the death rate – prevent drowning in bath tubs,” and then talking about building and installing tubs, why you should take a shower, and how expensive it is to operate swimming pools. Utter nonsense.
So, as we know, the only thing that we can do now is treat the symptoms of COVID-19 infection. And when it comes to treating the symptoms, if the symptoms are severe enough, someone will likely be in hospital, rather than at home. Thus, they’re pretty sick. And if they’re in an ICU (Intensive Care Unit), they’re really sick. And if they’re on a ventilator, they’re seriously critically sick. So there are levels of sickness with this, and other diseases, and the severity of sickness is determined by several factors, including how many signs and symptoms are being experienced (exhibited), and how much those symptoms are interfering with their ability to maintain homeostasis – our bodies’ innate ability to maintain proper function (circulate oxygenated blood, maintain proper operating temperature, utilize nutrients in food, and excrete waste by-products from digestion).
The human body is a series of complex mechanisms, all of which work together in harmony with other body systems to continue and maintain life (homeostasis).
What we do know about the more severe cases of COVID-19, is that it affects the lungs. We’re learning also that it quite likely affects other body systems, and may also have long-term implications, but the most notable, and most immediately life-threatening, is the damage done to the lungs.
We know also that COVID-19 is characterized by inflammation of the lungs, which is, in effect, a proper response mechanism of the body gone haywire. Imagine, if you will, a huge firetruck – even the whole Fire Department – responding to a small backyard barbecue fire which is nothing more than a flare-up, and easily (and most often) extinguished by you, the cook, or someone else. No drastic measures are required.

As of this date today, July 20, 2020, 183 days have passed since January 20, 2020 – when COVID-19 was discovered in the United States.
As of this date at 09:35:04 have been 140,563 (and counting) deaths attributed to the novel coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2, aka COVID-19, in the United States. (Death totals in the US include confirmed and probable, in accordance with CDC guidelines as of April 14.)
Before proceeding further, we need to obtain some history for clarity, and perspective – because, you know… it’s all in how you look at things.
• January 20
First U.S. case of COVID-19 reported, a 35-year-old man in Snohomish County, Washington, who had traveled with his family to Wuhan, capital city of the Hubei Province, China.
• January 30
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reports the first person-to-person transmission of COVID-19 in the United States from a woman who had traveled to Wuhan, China, and returned to the USA on 13 January, whose spouse became the 6th known positive case of COVID-19 in the United States, and 1st case in Chicago, and the 2nd case in IL. Dr. Ngozi O. Ezike, MD, Director of the Illinois Department of Public Health made the announcement.

The second known COVID-19 related death occurred in Santa Clara County California. Following autopsy results in mid-to-late April, the Santa Clara County California Medical Examiner’s office reported on April 21 that the second known COVID-19 related death occurred in United States, the first COVID-19 related death was previously thought to have occurred in Kirkland, Washington on February 29. The NYT reported that, “The virus has an incubation period of 14 days and people who die of it are often sick for at least three weeks, so the individual who died on Feb. 6 could have been infected — and transmitting the infection to others — in early January, experts said.”

The number of people who have died per day since January 20, 2020 when COVID-19 was found inside the United States.
Posted by Warm Southern Breeze on Sunday, July 12, 2020
Today is Sunday, July 12, 2020.
Trump’s COVID-19 Death Count is 134,898, and counting.
So, let’s put this in perspective.
Perspective is a good thing to have.
Since January 20, 2020 (that’s 5 months 24 days -or- 25 weeks 0 days -or- 175 calendar days ago), when the first U.S. case of COVID-19 was reported – that of a 35-year-old man in Snohomish County, Washington, who had traveled with his family to Wuhan, China – there have been (and are now at least) 3,269,531 cases of, and 134,898 deaths from, COVID-19 in the United States... and counting.
That averages out to be 18,683 cases, and 771 deaths per day since.
It’s important to emphasize that those are ONLY the deaths which we KNOW were directly caused by COVID-19 infection.
Because there are MANY, MANY more deaths, the causes of which are UNKNOWN (for example, a person receiving cancer treatment and otherwise expected to live, could have contracted COVID-19 and died therefrom, though the cause of death may be listed as “complications from treatment” or the disease process itself, and an otherwise healthy elderly person living at home alone could have died of COVID-19, though the official cause of death might be “unknown” or “natural causes”), we would naturally expect that there are more deaths from or related to COVID-19 than which we are aware.
And so, for that reason, a portion of ALL deaths from non-violent, and otherwise unknown causes, could, and will be attributed to COVID-19. The size of that portion is now largely unknown. But researchers, mathematicians, statisticians, and other scientists will be making such discoveries in the weeks and months ahead, as events begin to either settle in, or settle down, thereby allowing more time to be dedicated to such discovery. The priority now is containment – as much as possible – and search for a preventative cure, aka vaccine.
Concerning the matter of prevention…
Hindsight is 20/20, and fortunately, we know what should have been done, but was not.
Even after numerous National Security debriefings on the matter by the National Center for Medical Intelligence (NCMI), and other agencies as far back as November 2019 – at least THREE MONTHS BEFORE the first known public case of COVID-19 was reported on American soil – Republican President Donald Trump repeatedly and consistently dismissed any concerns and efforts to exercise the proverbial “ounce of prevention.”
To add insult to injury, despite the numerous and repeated warnings, he continuously downplayed the potential severity of the virus’ effect upon America… even after it was confirmed to have been discovered in America.
Moreover, there is substantial reason to believe – based upon evidence – that much of the suffering which our nation is now enduring could have been largely prevented. Perhaps even the first case could have been prevented.
Much, if not most, of the events which have occurred since January 2020 were predicated by responses which occurred at least two years prior, and only recently rapidly accelerated since January.
As far back as February 2018, the POTUS made known his intent to cut, and not renew the CDC’s extra budget allotment which was apportioned to effectively deal with international infectious disease outbreaks to prevent their spread.
In 2014, Congress had approved $600 million in emergency funding to the CDC to be used over a period of 5 years to deal with the Ebola outbreak in West Africa, along with other infectious diseases. By 2018, there was about $150+/- million remaining from that one-time grant. And while the CDC, Department of Health and Human Services, and the National Security Council had all requested additional funding for such preventative services in the president’s 2019 budget, in February 2018, POTUS made his intent clear, that he was not going to entertain any such requests, so the remaining emergency funds allocated from 2014 were on track to be fully spent in 2019, and no portion thereof would be renewed.
The CDC’s core budget has remained largely flat-lined at about $50-60 million annually.
Altogether, the Ebola outbreak in the Congo cost U.S. taxpayers about $5.4 billion in emergency supplemental funding, forced numerous American cities to spend millions in containment, disrupted global business, and forced the the U.S. military to deploy to in order to address and help contain the threat.
However, in the first two weeks of May 2018, Trump announced his budget would cut at least $15 billion from previously-approved funding, including $252 million remaining in unused emergency allocations appropriated by Congress in 2014 to deal with the Ebola outbreak in the Congo.
That same month, under the direction of then-National Security Advisor John Bolton, retired Rear Admiral Timothy Ziemer – who as Director of the U.S. President’s Malaria Initiative, had an integral role in reducing African malaria deaths by 50% under Presidents George W. Bush, and Obama, in 2017 had joined POTUS Trump’s National Security Council as Senior Director for Global Health Security and Biothreats to prepare against infectious diseases, create defense strategies against biological weapons, and lead pandemic response – was fired, and the office eliminated.
On January 3, 2020, the President’s Daily Briefs contained significant details from Intelligence reports by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and CIA about COVID-19, while the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director had discussions with Chinese colleague-cohorts about the coronavirus; and the Department of Health and Human Services was alerted of the report.
The next day, January 8, the CDC issued an emergency health advisory entitled as “Outbreak of Pneumonia of Unknown Etiology (PUE) in Wuhan, China” stating that “The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is closely monitoring a reported cluster of pneumonia of unknown etiology (PUE) with possible epidemiologic links to a large wholesale fish and live animal market in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China. An outbreak investigation by local officials is ongoing in China; the World Health Organization (WHO) is the lead international public health agency. Currently, there are no known U.S. cases nor have cases been reported in countries other than China. CDC has established an Incident Management Structure to optimize domestic and international coordination if additional public health actions are required.” (https://emergency.cdc.gov/han/han00424.asp)
About the 3rd week of January, noting that cable communications traffic had significatly increased, the State Department began repatriating U.S. Diplomats in Wuhan on chartered flights, while a White House colleague mentioned concern for viral transmissibility stating that, “In January, there was obviously a lot of chatter.”
On January 17, the CDC announced that “Public Health Screening to Begin at 3 U.S. Airports for 2019 Novel Coronavirus (“2019-nCoV”)” stating that “The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Department of Homeland Security’s Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will implement enhanced health screenings to detect ill travelers traveling to the United States on direct or connecting flights from Wuhan, China. This activity is in response to an outbreak in China caused by a novel (new) coronavirus (2019 nCoV), with exported cases to Thailand and Japan. Starting January 17, 2020, travelers from Wuhan to the United States will undergo entry screening for symptoms associated with 2019-nCoV at three U.S. airports that receive most of the travelers from Wuhan, China: San Francisco (SFO), New York (JFK), and Los Angeles (LAX) airports. Martin Cetron, M.D., Director of CDC’s Division of Global Migration and Quarantine, said, “To further protect the health of the American public during the emergence of this novel coronavirus, CDC is beginning entry screening at three ports of entry. Investigations into this novel coronavirus are ongoing and we are monitoring and responding to this evolving situation.” Based on current information, the risk from 2019-nCoV to the American public is currently deemed to be low. Nevertheless, CDC is taking proactive preparedness precautions.” (https://www.cdc.gov/media/releases/2020/p0117-coronavirus-screening.html)
On January 18, the Secretary of Health and Human Services Alex Azar finally reached POTUS by phone to speak about the coronavirus, but POTUS interrupted him to ask when flavored vaping products would return to market.
On January 22, while attending the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, POTUS Trump was asked by CNBC Squawk Box host Joe Kernan if he was worried about a pandemic.
JOE KERNEN: It was a couple of years ago. Before we get started– with- we’re going talk about the economy and a lot of other things–the CDC– has identified a case of coronavirus– in Washington state. The Wuhan strain of this. If you remember SARS, that affected GDP. Travel-related effects. Do you– have you been briefed by the CDC? And–
PRESIDENT TRUMP:I have, and–
JOE KERNEN: –are there worries about a pandemic at this point?
PRESIDENT TRUMP:No. Not at all. And– we’re– we have it totally under control. It’s one person coming in from China, and we have it under control. It’s—going to be just fine.
JOE KERNEN: Okay. And President Xi– there’s just some– talk in China that maybe the transparency isn’t everything that it’s going to be. Do you trust that we’re going to know everything we need to know from China?
Only two days later, on 24 January, POTUS Tweeted: “China has been working very hard to contain the Coronavirus. The United States greatly appreciates their efforts and transparency. It will all work out well. In particular, on behalf of the American People, I want to thank President Xi!” (https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/1220818115354923009)
“We assess that the United States and the world will remain vulnerable to the next flu pandemic or large-scale outbreak of a contagious disease that could lead to massive rates of death and disability, severely affect the world economy, strain international resources, and increase calls on the United States for support.” (Though linked above, that document may also be Global Theat Assessment 2019-ATA-SFR—SSCI.)
Also, on January 29, Peter Navarro, Assistant to the President, Director of Trade and Manufacturing Policy, and the National Defense Production Act Policy Coordinator, wrote a memo entitled Read the rest of this entry »

Quite a feat, eh!?!
Amidst the turmoil, cacophony, and carnage STILL being caused by COVID-19, there stands ONE SHINING EXAMPLE of EVERYTHING that was and is being DONE RIGHT!!
“Established in 1920, the Maryland Baptist Aged Home is the oldest African-American owned and operated Nursing Home in the state of Maryland. It is governed by the Board of Trustees of the United Baptist Missionary Convention. The MBAH is a non-profit 501(c)(3) 29-bed facility providing short and long term care to all residents without regard to race, color, sex, religion or national origin. Residents served by MBAH enjoy a family oriented setting. We take a proactive approach to the development and execution of individualized resident care. We provide multi-disciplinary team approach with emphasis on respect, compassion and professionalism.”
So, now with well over 3.1 million COVID-19 cases, and untold numbers of deaths STILL occurring, in the United States from infection with COVID-19, how did they do it?
Amna Nawaz: So, everyone knows the numbers, right? When you look at COVID deaths in long-term care facilities around the country, they make up some 40 percent of all COVID deaths in the nation. In Maryland, I think the number is over 60 percent. How did you beat the odds?
Rev. Derrick DeWitt: Well, I think the key was early, early mitigation, early proactive steps to make sure that this disease did not enter into our nursing home.
And one of the things that I did was, I just listened to the news around the world and how this was affecting other countries. And then, when I heard — when I heard the president say, we only had 15 cases, and he thought that, by the end of the week, it would be zero. I knew that it was time that we take action.
Amna Nawaz: I don’t want to put words in your mouth, but it sounds like you basically didn’t believe the president and took early action to lock down. Is that correct?
Rev. Derrick DeWitt: Well, that’s correct, in a sense. I mean, I think us being in an underprivileged and underserved area of Baltimore City, we have kind of gotten used to the fact that, if help is going to come, it’s probably going to come too late, so we need to be prepared to take care of ourselves.
Amna Nawaz: So, tell me a little bit about what exactly you did. When you say you acted early, what steps did you put into place back in February?
Rev. Derrick DeWitt: Well, the first thing we did, probably very end of February, 1st of March, we locked down the facility. We allowed no visitors in or out.
We knew that, if the disease was going to get into the nursing home, it was going to come from the outside. And probably it was going to be an employee that brought it in.
So, we have a very rigorous screening process when they come to work. And it’s almost an hour-to-hour detail on what you did the 12 hours or 14 hours that you weren’t at work. Who did you see? Who were you with? We Read the rest of this entry »
I’ve not yet seen any images – still, or video – of Black folks out protesting that their (or any) barbershops oughta’ be forced to reopen, that their (or any) restaurants oughta’ be forced to reopen, that their (or any) favorite (_fill_in_the_blank_) ought to be forced to reopen, etc.
But I’ve sure seen a whole lotta’ images of White folks doing stupid stuff like that… and very publicly making general asses of themselves in the process – including openly brandishing loaded assault rifles and other dangerous weapons in state’s capitols and in other headquarters of civil governance.
I mean, there SERIOUSLY doesn’t seem to be any Democrats, or Independent voters doing stuff like that.

Economics has long been called the “dismal science.”¹
Perhaps it’s because they either a.) Tell the truth, or b.) Warn about bad things to come. Either way, it’s hardly a French tickler, and more like a Marquis de Sade.
But, some folks don’t enjoy hearing the truth, or as the actor Jack Nicholson’s character Guantanamo Base Commander Colonel Nathan Jessup raged upon the witness stand in the 1992 motion picture “A Few Good Men,” that “You can’t handle the truth!”
Of course, we’re familiar with how that movie turned out.
Free economies are based upon consumer spending. Period. Full stop.
If consumers don’t have money, they don’t spend. That’s easy enough to understand.
And, if anything, the coronoavirus pandemic has shown up how poorly prepared this president’s administration has been, and continues to be.
Again, those aren’t “nice words” to hear or read, but they are the unvarnished truth.
To say that “the economy is improving” is a mischaracterization of enormous proportion, so much so, and to the extent that, it’s either whistling past the graveyard, or Whistler’s Mother – both of whom are dead.
The economy was “doing well” according to some estimates. Those estimates included the DJIA, the stock indices of various firms and select industries, and some hedge funds. The “essential” worker bees were just hanging on by a thread in their retail, meat processing, and low-paid food service industry jobs. And once they got sick, they were fired, and… BAMMO! The shit hit the high-speed fan.
Suddenly, there were no more “worker bees” and the economic house of cards began to collapse with each puff of wind from COVID-19 patients’ coughs.
Fortunately, Congress (as in the House of Representatives) had the wisdom and foresight to actually bail out THE PEOPLE this time, and to give a much smaller hand-out to industry. The familiar cry “Where’s MY bailout!?!” was the primary sticking point with the previous administration in the process of recovery from “the Great Recession” when Big Business and industry got practically everything their hearts desired, but the people got nothing. Literally, nothing. Bupkis. Zero. Zilch. Nada. Not even a peck on the cheek after they were screwed.
This time, The People who lost their jobs due to COVID-19 were given an extra $600 per week of Unemployment Compensation, which was set to expire July 31. Ever seeking cheap labor to fill their stores, factories and farms, the Republicans decried the matter, but agreed to go along with the plan, hoping that the administration would have a more cohesively unified plan to stop the assault of COVID-19 upon America’s lives, young and old, alike.
But as it became increasingly clear that nothing of the sort was going to happen, and that an extension of such benefits would likely become necessary because either businesses went belly-up, or couldn’t guarantee their employees’ safety on the job (as protection against COVID-19), the employees, many of whom were already at risk of serious injury from such infection, declined to return to work, and continued to draw their extra $600/week Unemployment Compensation.
But hey! A bright spot!
Facebook, Apple, Google, Amazon, and other industry monoliths were doing A-okay, and were even increasing profits! So yah… it was all sweetness and pleasantries once again for the Billionaire Class.
But The People.
Those pesky people.
Those essential sacrificial lambs of industry… what to do with them? Those who could – and still had jobs – worked from their residences. Those who, for whatever reason Read the rest of this entry »

Today’s COVID-19 US Daily Death Count bought to you by…
Republicans – The Party of White!
Because White Makes Right.
As of this evening, June 23, 2020, at least 121,224 Americans have sacrificed their lives for DJ Trump, the narcissistic incompetent Liar in Chief who pretends to be the President of the United States.
MORE COVID-19 Deaths than all deaths in WWI – 116,516.
Last week, we eclipsed all deaths from the Korean and Vietnam Wars combined.
We are in a very Public Health war.
And so far, testing continues to lag with only 4.6037% of the entire American public tested – 15,192,481.
Meanwhile, South Korea, New Zealand, Taiwan, Vietnam – along with their economies – are returning to normal with no new cases reported, while stupid Americans cry, whine, moan, groan, gripe, bitch, and complain about not being able to get haircuts, their nails done, eat out, or go to the gym.
Thus far, 1,354,664 American lives have been lost in the total 78 armed conflicts in our nation’s 244 year history.
That averages out to very nearly 5,552 per year.
In the past 127 days since COVID-19 disease was discovered to have invaded our nation on January 20 this year, over 97,811 deaths – that we now know of – have occurred.

President Trump, and his Attorney General William Barr are weaponizing COVID-19.
In a conference “pastor call,” AG Barr recently said that “I think the intransigence on this makes me feel that undergirding some of this is really animus against religion.”
United States Attorney General William “Bill” Barr
However, earlier on Tuesday, April 14, at a press conference, Mr. Barr had confirmed that law, and Supreme Court (SCOTUS) decisions state explicitly that Constitutionally-guaranteed freedoms are not absolute, and permit reasonable limits to them.
“In exigent circumstances, when the community as a whole faces an impending harm of this magnitude, and where the measures are tailored to meeting the imminent danger, the constitution does allow some temporary restriction on our liberties that would not be tolerated in normal circumstances.”
In that same statement, he also stated clearly that, “government may not impose special restrictions on religious activity that do not also apply to similar nonreligious activity.”

So… the Bullshitter in Chief went to Allentown, PA today – to Owens & Minor, a PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) manufacturer’s distribution facility, no less – and REFUSED to wear that Made in America product, and had the audacity to say in part, that:
“You know, we’ve been doing testing at a level that nobody has ever done it before. We cannot get any, and we cannot get the press to write about it or write fairly about it. And nobody has ever done. We’ve done double what anyone else — if you add up all of the countries in the world, we’ve done more testing than all of the countries in the world added up together. Nobody has ever done anything like that. And we have the best tests.”
Look, Americans aren’t dummies.
And he’s just blowing smoke. Purely.
Just because someone doesn’t have a university degree doesn’t make them a complete blithering idiot.
Seriously.
And you don’t have to be a brainiac to know that America (330,000,000) has MANY MORE people than Spain (46,752,506).
