Thus far, 1,354,664 American lives have been lost in the total 78 armed conflicts in our nation’s 244 year history.
That averages out to very nearly 5,552 per year.
In the past 127 days since COVID-19 disease was discovered to have invaded our nation on January 20 this year, over 97,811 deaths – that we now know of – have occurred.
Again, using averages, that averages out to be 17.6 years of average armed conflict loss.
And yet again, using averages, it averages out to be 770 COVID-19 deaths per day since January 20.
Or, if you prefer, that’s 32 per hour in every 24-hour period – almost 2 per minute – 1.875 to be exact.
Compared to American lives lost in 78 armed conflicts in 244 years (89,060 days), which works out to be slightly over 15 per day, COVID-19 daily losses – which are 32 per day – represent a 113.33% increase.
So, it’s entirely accurate to say that in 127 days, the averaged total number of American lives lost to COVID-19 exceeds by more than twice the daily average of lives lost in all 78 armed conflicts in which America has been involved in its 244 year history.
Make no mistakes.
This is SERIOUS business.
We ARE in a war.
A very Public Health war.
