ICE Facility Employees Spread COVID-19 -and- Tuberculosis at Home and Abroad
Posted by Warm Southern Breeze on Saturday, July 25, 2020

Richmond Correctional Center, Alexandria, LA is owned by LaSalle Corrections, headquartered in Ruston, located directly SOUTH
Actions by employees of LaSalle Corrections – a Louisiana-headquartered private prison company with operations in Texas, Arizona, Georgia, New Mexico, and extensively in the Pelican State, which runs the Richwood Correctional Center (RCC) in Alexandria in the northern part of Louisiana – have spread COVID-19, and very likely other diseases to other individuals within the company, community, state, nationally, and internationally.
Located at 180 Pine Bayou Circle, Richwood, Louisiana 71202, (ICE facility website) RCC is a medium-security, 1129-bed capacity facility leased to the U.S Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The immigration detention center is also COVID-ravaged, and employees’ actions have likely created new diseases, and spread others – including Tuberculosis, and COVID-19 – because employees there regularly:
• Quarantined tuberculosis patients with COVID-19 patients, essentially creating Read the rest of this entry »

Close To Home: An Alabama Native was First to Hike the Entire US/Mexico Border
Posted by Warm Southern Breeze on Saturday, March 9, 2019

“Border Walk,” by Mark J. Hainds, an Andalusia, Alabama native, documents his journey as the first individual to have trekked along the 1954 miles of the US/Mexico border.
While the Washington Post is getting clicks on their news feature story headlined “Is the border actually lawless? This father and son are hiking all 1,954 miles to find out.,” it was actually Mark J. Hainds, an Andalusia, Alabama resident, who was the first person to have ever hiked the length of the US/Mexico border.
In November 2014, the Research Associate and Research Coordinator with Auburn University and the Longleaf Alliance, resigned his 20-year-plus positions, and took temporary leave of his family, to hike the 1,954 miles of the US/Mexico border.
PBS documented his journey in a full-length feature film named “La Frontera,” which can be viewed for free at the link below:
https://southdocs.org/project/lafrontera/
His book “Border Walk” which describes his journey, was published in March 2018, and in April he authored an article which was published on Daily Kos website (“I Walked the Entire US-Mexico Border”) about his journey which also referenced his book.
He leads that story by writing, “On November 24th, 2017, I became the first person in history to have walked the length of the US-Mexico border.”
His feat was reported by:
• The Houston Chronicle in October 2016 (“A walk along the border: Man traverses Texas-Mexico line for documentary“)
• Vice in October 2016 (“We Talked to the Man Walking the Length of the US-Mexico Border“)
• The Associated Press April 2017 (“Day 14: Fellow border travelers meet, in the middle of nowhere“)
• The San Diego Tribune July 2017 (“For 700 miles, hiker kept the border in view, and on his mind“)

Exclusive: U.S. finds long-lost diary of top Nazi leader, Hitler aide
By John Shiffman
Sun Jun 9, 2013; 7:59pm EDT
WASHINGTON (Reuters) – The government has recovered 400 pages from the long-lost diary of Alfred Rosenberg, a confidant of Adolf Hitler who played a central role in the extermination of millions of Jews and others during World War Two.
A preliminary U.S. government assessment reviewed by Reuters asserts the diary could offer new insight into meetings Rosenberg had with Hitler and other top Nazi leaders, including Heinrich Himmler and Herman Goering. It also includes details about the German occupation of the Soviet Union, including plans for mass killings of Jews and other Eastern Europeans.
“The documentation is of considerable importance for the study of the Nazi era, including the history of the Holocaust,” according to the assessment, prepared by the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington. “A cursory content analysis indicates that the material sheds new light on a number of important issues relating to the Third Reich’s policy. The diary will be Read the rest of this entry »

Smuggler’s Blues: Mexican Narco-traffickers trick the unsuspecting
Posted by Warm Southern Breeze on Monday, April 16, 2012
¡Advertencia! Los traficantes de drogas son los trabajos de publicidad para los conductores que cruzan a los Estados Unidos. No sea una víctima de la trampa de los contrabandistas!
That’s the Spanish translation to:
“Warning! Drug traffickers are advertising jobs for drivers to cross to the United States. Don’t be a victim of the smugglers’ trap!“
It’s the message that the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency is paying Mexican newspaper publishers to be printed in a Tijuana newspaper for 30 days at a cost of US$2000.
Unsuspecting though leery, some are falling prey to Mexican narco-traffickers ploy to smuggle illicit narcotics into the U.S.
It may be money well spent, since the costs associated with each arrest – incarceration, trial, etc. – far exceed the cost of advertising.

Mexican cartels trick border crossers into being drug mules
By Marty Graham
SAN DIEGO, California | Sun Apr 15, 2012 5:34pm EDT
(Reuters) – The Mexican help wanted ads offer a quick $500 for a simple job – drive a car into California on an errand for an “important business” organization.
But the new boss may be a drug cartel and the cargo may not be vital papers, or even money, but illegal narcotics. Hidden in the car could be marijuana, cocaine and methamphetamines that, if found by law enforcement, could land the driver in prison for many years.
The drug traffickers’ ruse has Read the rest of this entry »
