The coronavirus has now infected more than SARS ever did

One month after the new coronavirus was discovered, the virus has infected more people than the related SARS coronavirus did when it broke out in 2002/2003.

The newly erupted coronavirus has now infected more people than the related SARS coronavirus did during the SARS outbreak in 2002/2003. The latest official figures released by the Chinese authorities on Friday show that 9809 people have been infected with the new coronavirus. In comparison, a total of 8422 people were infected with SARS between November 2002 and July 2003, after which the WHO declared that the risk of infection at SARS was over. In addition, the Chinese authorities suspect that an additional 15,238 people are infected with the new coronavirus.

213 people have so far died of the new coronavirus, while the SARS outbreak killed a total of 916 people.

Chinese authorities have previously said that the coronavirus, which is still only officially known under the name 2019-ncov, had a mortality rate of about 2% – that is, about 2% of the infected door.

Soldiers trying to seize control of one Mexico’s top drug-producing regions found the countryside teeming with a new hybrid marijuana plant that can be cultivated year-round and cannot be killed with pesticides.

Soldiers fanned out across some of the new fields Tuesday, pulling up plants by the root and burning them, as helicopter gunships clattered overhead to give them cover from a raging drug war in the western state of Michoacan. The plants’ roots survive if they are doused with herbicide, said army Gen. Manuel Garcia.

“These plants have been genetically improved,” he told a handful of journalists allowed to accompany soldiers on a daylong raid of some 70 marijuana fields. “Before we could cut the plant and destroy it, but this plant will come back to life unless it’s taken out by the roots.”

Here we are, on the 20th day of January, with the 10th and final installment in our one-a-weekday series Ten Great Tips for 2011.

I do hope you’ve enjoyed them all.

Sure, they’re lighthearted and gay, and we everyone need some light and happiness in our daily lives.

We’ve started off this New Year on the right footing, and we’re going to make a good showing of things this year.

We’re going to walk this walk together, with each other, hand-in-hand, supporting and encouraging each other along the way. Let’s remember, that the seeds we plant will eventually mature, and bear fruit.
