Alabama Governor Robert Bentley Lands Airbus Factory Deal for State

Posted by Warm Southern Breeze on Wednesday, July 11, 2012

Quite possibly, this is THE biggest industrial jobs deal in Alabama, ever!

Kudos to the Governor, and all who made it happen.

One thing’s for certain – direct & indirect jobs from this deal will be exceedingly superior to those in sawmills & cooperages!

Here’s to you, Governor!

LONDON – Gov. Robert Bentley was tired.

He piled into the back of a cab early Wednesday for the ride out to Heathrow Airport, accompanied by a reporter; his wife, First Lady Dianne Bentley; his chief of staff, David Perry; and a pair of security guards.

He’d left Alabama eight days before, traveling nearly 6,000 miles from Montgomery to Hamburg and Stuttgart, Germany, then on to London for the Farnborough International Air Show.

His voice was hoarse and his suit was rumpled. In the past two days alone, he met with Read the rest of this entry »

Kansas Republican Lawyer Kris Kobach Advances Political Aspirations with Alabama Experiment

Posted by Warm Southern Breeze on Friday, February 10, 2012

May God have mercy on your wretched soul, Kris Kobach. I hope you are relegated to a life wherein you can work out your penance by serving the immigrant and poor.

“The alien living with you must be treated as one of your native-born. Love him as yourself, for you were aliens in Egypt. I am the LORD your God.” Leviticus 19:34

His Southern Poverty Law Center profile describes him as a “nativist.” In addition, most all of the laws he wrote or helped write have been overturned on Constitutional grounds. While advising former U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft, the program he crafted around his ideals also similarly failed amidst federal scrutiny and loss of federal cases brought on the basis of discrimination. His 2004 bid for U.S. Congress failed after his opponent accused him of having ties to White Supremacists. In 2007, fliers were circulated on the campus of University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law accusing him of inflating his credentials and crafting bad law. Mr. Kobach endorses Mitt Romney for President, and he was the 2008 Romney campaign’s illegal immigration policy advisor.

Mr. Kobach also “works for the Immigration Reform Law Institute (IRLI). IRLI is the legal arm of the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), recently listed as a nativist hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center.”

Even the Kansas City Star noted the Mobile Press-Register editorial (below), and on February 9th, 2012 concluded that, “In place after place, laws drafted by Kobach have either been declared unconstitutional or proven disastrous. Yet he happily forges ahead, representing the state of Kansas as an elected official and acting as an adviser to Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney. How many editorials will it take before people figure this guy out?

AL Governor Bentley: Reform Ethics Law… the one I helped write.

Posted by Warm Southern Breeze on Wednesday, December 14, 2011

Governor Bentley’s office recently Tweeted the following message December 14, 2010 @14:50: Amend the Ethics law so that teachers are allowed to receive seasonal gifts. http://tinyurl.com/7n6w6jj

The reader should be aware that Dr. Bentley was a representative legislator from Tuscaloosa whom helped write, approve and pass the bill that became law when it was signed by then-governor Bob Riley, also a Republican.

As any citizen ought, I held great hope for numerous good things to happen to Alabama when the people elected Robert J. Bentley, MD (R), as the next governor.

However, it seems that Read the rest of this entry »

It’s official: Alabama Governor Robert J. Bentley is an idiot

Posted by Warm Southern Breeze on Sunday, November 20, 2011

Bob, if you read this – and I hope you will – you’re in over your head. You need help. Praying for you doesn’t mean we can’t be critical of you. Iron sharpens iron, you know. I’m glad you’re not accepting a salary, because I’d want my money back already.

The doo-doo is now beginning to hit the fan for Alabama’s RepubliKKKlan legislators & state executives.

The arrest of a MBUSA executive official is just the start. If you’ve not heard how Alabama made INTERNATIONAL (bad) NEWS by now, here it is: Read the rest of this entry »

Another reason to buy a Ford

Posted by Warm Southern Breeze on Thursday, November 19, 2009

Aside from General Motors “going out of business” taxpayer bail-out fire sales and their deceptive “you can return this care if you don’t absolutely love it” teevee commercials… yeah, that’s enough to make anyone’s stomach turn.

Andyway, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, a private, insurance-company-funded organization (don’t get me started on those bastards, the insurance ones, that is), has released their “Top Safety Pick” for 19 sedans and 8 SUVs fro the 2010 model year. Their ratings are, in order, from the top: Good (G), Acceptable (A), Marginal (M), and Poor (P).

Ford and Volvo (a Ford-owned subsidiary), each earned 6, while Subaru, Volkswagen and their Audi division each received 5.

Chrysler earned 4, while Honda and GM each had 2, with Toyota, BMW, Mazda and Mitsubishi receiving none.

Hey!

What about Mercedes-Benz?

Oh yeah… their C class automobile (which the IIHS classifies as “midsize” – what’s their S class, then? Super? The C class is Coupe/Compact, you idiots!) is a “Top Safety Pick” for 2010.

And, Mercedes models have ranked Good from 200-2009 and Acceptable from 1997-2000.
