The writing style of the majority of bodies of work (especially and particularly “news”) found online is abysmally poor, and uninformative. It’s a problem that I bitch about with seeming regularity. Doubtlessly, there are numerous contributing factors, but it is my opinion that a predominate role has been, and continues to be, played by corporate-profit-driven, Wall-$treet-controlled “media outlets,” whose exclusive concern is… MONEY.
Nothing else.
No concern for truth, no concern for veracity, for authenticity, no concern for quality, no concern for anything but MONEY.
And nowhere is that more excruciatingly shown than at Fox News, which stinking putrid pot has had the purifying and sanitizing light of day shown upon it brought by the MULTI-BILLION dollar defamation lawsuit against it by Dominion Voting Systems of Denver, CO, charging that Fox deliberately spread malicious lies about the November 2020 General Election, falsely claiming that Dominion’s voting machines were part and parcel of a giant conspiracy and fraud to alter the outcome of the election.
They were not.
And as tranche after tranche, raft after raft of documents and communications of myriad kind have shown, and continue to show, not even Fox’s lying talking heads believed the bullshit espoused by the crazies of the Party of Trump.
But more to the point.
Today’s journalists (I use that term loosely) are piss poor writers, uninformative, and more… and worse.
Here’s an example that occurs with calculable regularity.
A person is quoted, or mentioned, in some story, but Read the rest of this entry »

But, we’ve known that for quite some time.
WYSIWYG.
It wasn’t as if he was participating in a “bait and switch.”
We’ve seen and heard his errant behavior live, 24-7-365 via satellite, cable, and network news, radio and television, for many years, and now, the cash-strapped media for whom he has been a practical godsend – a true answer to prayer for increased ratings and advertising rates – is obliquely questioning his legitimate fitness for office?
So OF COURSE they’re covering him like white on rice!
Once he was impeached, the media scrambled to find out if impeachment had affected his bowel habits – if he was becoming excessively gassy – especially in public; or if instead of smoothly flowing stools, he was experiencing slight constipation.

Once again, POS45 is mentally obsessed with Read the rest of this entry »

There are NO GOOD choices in this General Election.
We have:
The Devil We Know vs The Devil We Don’t Know.
We also have:
Choosing the lesser of two evils is still a choice FOR evil.
Granted, someone WILL be elected, and granted further, s/he won’t be liked by those whom didn’t vote for the winner.
The two major party’s candidates are almost universally disliked within and without the parties. And that is a very sad state of affairs. It is, in large part, why there was such enormous support for Bernie Sanders… who is the opposite side of the same coin as Trump.
What concerns me most about Trump is that he seems Read the rest of this entry »

There are numerous reasons, actually.
Here are a few:
He has an excellent political background/pedigree/experience.
• In 1978, aged 26 he was elected to the Ohio State Senate’s 15th Senatorial District, and remains OH’s youngest ever elected state senator
• In 1982, he was elected to the US House of Representatives 12th Ohio District, where he served from ’83-2001 (was re-elected 8 times) by at least 64% each time
• In 2010, he was elected governor, and in 2014 re-elected in a landslide, carrying all but 2 counties (86/88) – including the traditionally Democratic-leaning Hamilton county, where Cincinnati is located

Ohio Governor John Kasich (2010 & 2014)
He has done quite well by Ohio voters.
• His approval rating (always fluctuating for any elected figure) among Ohioans, has been as much as 77%.
• He expanded Medicaid in Ohio (which reduces uncompensated care & increases hospitals’ solvency)
• He saved $3Billion in the Medicaid budget, and slowed growth in the plan from 9%-3%, the lowest rate nationally
• He used cost-saving reforms & turned a $6-8 Billion Ohio budget shortfall into a balanced budget without raising taxes
• During his first term as governor, he grew the “Rainy Day Fund” (surplus) from $890M-1.5B
• In his first budget, he implemented a Personal Income Tax cut
• In his second budget, he implemented a 10% Personal Income Tax cut, and a 50% Small Business Income Tax cut
• During his first term as governor, he created 316,800 new jobs, and the state Unemployment Rate fell from 9.4% to 5.1%
• Education funding is at the highest level it’s ever been
• Because of Criminal Justice reforms, Ohio’s recidivism rate (reoffending) of prisoners is the lowest in the nation
• He has vigorously worked Read the rest of this entry »

This is gonna’ get real old, real quick.
—
Sent from my typewriter.
Late… again.
The Huntsville Times is owned by the same company that owns the Times Picayune, Sports Illustrated & Condé Nast – Newhouse News.
Alabama‘s three most populous cities – Birmingham, Huntsville, and Mobile – all have a newspaper which is owned by Newhouse. And, like the Times Picayune, they are laying off staff & reducing coverage, which includes reducing publication to 3 days/week.
Further, those three papers – The Birmingham News, The Huntsville Times & The Mobile Press-Register – are all now being printed in Birmingham, even though Mobile is on the Gulf Coast, Huntsville borders Tennessee, and Birmingham is in the middle. So, as you might imagine, it’s a logistical nightmare.
If you’re interested in knowing how many papers & publications they do own (which would astound you), see the entry “Advance Publications,” and the entry “Condé Nast Publications” on Wikipedia for a detailed & lengthy list.

Recall the words to this song?
“Oh, how I love Jesus… Oh, how I love Jesus… Oh, how I love Jesus…”
Well, some folk don’t “love” Him because He first loved them, but because He “gives me power to get wealth.” And THAT, my brothers and sisters, is where it’s at! Money, money, money! Pass the cash! I want more! More! More! More!
Is this abuse?
You decide.
Perhaps the greater question is this: How can this be prevented?
And, this is ALL tax free.
Free.
Remember that word.

Private jets, 13 mansions and a $100,000 mobile home just for the dogs: Televangelists ‘defrauded tens of million of dollars from Christian network’
By Nina Golgowski
PUBLISHED: 16:21 EST, 23 March 2012 | UPDATED: 16:22 EST, 23 March 2012
Two former employees of the world’s largest Christian television channel Trinity Broadcasting Network are accusing the non-profit of spending $50 million of its funding on extravagant personal expenses.
Among purchases, the network founded by Televangelists Paul and Jan Crouch, is accused of misappropriating its ‘charitable assets’ toward a $50 million jet, 13 mansions and a $100,000-mobile home for Mrs Crouch’s dogs.

Accused: Brittany Koper, center, recently filed a suit accusing the Trinity Broadcasting Network, its founders Janice Crouch (left) and Paul Crouch Sr (far right), in squandering $50 million of its funding
Their granddaughter, Brittany Koper, 26, recently filed her allegations in court after Read the rest of this entry »

Gee! I didn’t know I could do that!
Face it, sometimes we say things that we don’t want others to hear. Same thing goes for writing. Especially in a social environment like FaceBook!
While many folks may NOT know how to use FaceBook’s features, there are a few things that can be learned simply be watching others. So, while I’m not here guiding or holding your hand through this process, I think you’ll “get the picture” once you …Click here…

For those “in the know,” “Sosumi” is the name of a computer sound which Apple Computer of Cupertino, CA created and has used for quite some time.
I love Apple Computer, well, not genuinely “love,” but have always believed them to be the best – bar none – computer operating system, superior in every way to Microsoft’s Windows OS. Folks used to say, “Oh, the Mac is good for graphics,” and other such nonsense, even when the Mac OS was in v7.x.
Today, I ask folks, “What’s the Internet all about?” Graphics, graphics, graphics, and media, media, media.
And still, some folks continue to use the infection-prone Windows. Oh well. Some folks never learn.
On to Sosumi.
If you’ve ever heard of the “Beatles,” (and who hasn’t?) you should be aware that …Continue…

Hey… I thought “thinking outside the box” was the desirable outcome!
Now, we’re told we should get back in it.
The quote in the subject line is from Richard Heene, the Ft. Collins, CO man whom authorities are investigating for intentional fraud – suspecting the scare his little boy might have been aloft in a helium balloon and the resulting scramble of rescue resources, federal, state and local was deliberate.
In context, that’s what Mr. Heene told reporters camped outside his house.
And, I think the sheriff’s cooking legal spaghetti.
Why spaghetti?
Just like spaghetti, he’s gonna’ cook it just long enough, and then throw the charges… to see if it sticks to the wall, or in this case, Mr. Heene.
Of course, Mr. Heene will come out smelling like a Ponderosa Pine (not many roses grow in Colorado) because he’ll get a book deal, and a made-for-teevee-movie, will appear on numerous talk shows, and otherwise make the media rounds.
As I understand, Mr. Heene’s ideas for a “reality teevee show” have been rejected on more than one occasion. And, as is the “American way,” Mr. Heene is making his own “reality teevee show”… er, making his own “opportunity.”
And what a name for a balloon boy, eh?
Falcon.
