Bakersfield Man Kevin McCarthy Will Utterly Fail as Speaker of the House

Posted by Warm Southern Breeze on Sunday, January 8, 2023

The 118th Congress will be pockmarked by confusion, an inability to pass legislation for the people’s benefit, and the Repugnants will attempt to cut Social Security, Medicare, and literally, every program that helps the American people. Kevin McCarthy will not last a year as Speaker of the House, and will be ousted most likely, no later than July 2023. His term in office will be abbreviated, interrupted with a motion to Vacate the Chair, and quickly forgotten. His consistent inability to gather support from among the majority party, causing a meltdown on the opening day of the 118th Congress that led to 15 consecutive votes over a period of 5 days, will be the highlight of his utter failure.

I’m One of the Last Holdouts Against Kevin McCarthy — and I Won’t Back Down

Guest Essay by Bob Good
January 6, 2023
Mr. Good, a Republican, represents Virginia’s Fifth Congressional District in the House of Representatives.

Back in the summer, a group of conservatives put together a proposal with extensive changes to the rules and processes that govern how Republicans run the House of Representatives. For example, we wanted regular, rank-and-file members to have more power to amend bills on the House floor. We wanted at least three days to read and consider bills before we were asked to vote on them. And we wanted to limit the scope of bills to a single subject, so we wouldn’t be asked to vote on legislative “Christmas trees” passed on a tight deadline. We made those demands because the people we represent have told us time and again that Washington is broken, and we knew they wanted to see a change in the status quo.

Representative Bob Good, wearing a taupe-colored suit and maroon tie, stands before a black microphone that rises from the center of a polished wooden table in front of a row of brown leather chairs in the House chamber in the Capitol.

What the American people have tuned in to watch this week is a healthy democratic process, working as it was designed to: with members in the same place, engaging in debate, and having face-to-face conversations. Important negotiations often take months or even years in a legislative body. Yet this is the one and only opportunity we have to debate how the House is run every two years, both with the election of a speaker and with the passage of the new House rules.

While some have accused us of acting in our own personal interests, we are standing strong because we believe the United States House of Representatives was designed to be the People’s House where the will of every American would be represented. That is why the selection of a speaker requires the votes of a majority of the House. A majority of the people’s representatives must trust that person to lead us.

Throughout the past few months of negotiation and debate, we have been very clear with Republican leadership that we want changes that empower regular members of Congress, who each represent a district of more than half a million people, to have more meaningful input into how legislation is considered. And some of those procedural changes have been accepted.

We also wanted to Read the rest of this entry »

Trump Impeachment Trial v2.0 – Day 1

Posted by Warm Southern Breeze on Wednesday, February 10, 2021

The Temerity Of Alabama’s David Schoen,
Impeachment Defense Attorney For Donald Trump

The utter temerity of David Schoen!

David Schoen is a Montgomery, Alabama-based attorney whom is a Jew.

The mention of his religion is of no consequence, save perhaps, for the fact that he had asked for, then rescinded his request for the trial to take a day off – Saturday, beginning from sundown Friday, to sunrise Sunday (the Jewish “sabbath”) – to attend Synagogue, wear his little beanie, not use electricity, not serve dairy and meat together (like on a cheeseburger), or to practice whatever superstitious silliness that religiously observant Jews practice on Saturdays – just like Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, who is married to Ivanka Trump, Loser Trump’s second child, and first-born daughter, of whom he said that he would be “dating her” (TRANSLATE: Having sex with) if he wasn’t married to Malaria, er… Melania, and noted that she was a “fine piece of ass.”

The TEMERITY to quote Lincoln in his closing remarks!

Is he trying to defend, or prosecute his client?

The atrocity occurs very near the closing after 3:57… that’s 3 HOURS and 57 minutes.

“Stand with anybody that stands RIGHT. Stand with him while he is right, and PART with him when he goes wrong.”
–– The Collected Works of Abraham Lincoln edited by Roy P. Basler, Volume II, “Speech at Peoria, Illinois” (October 16, 1854), p. 273.

And then, to read – and give an UTTERLY HORRIBLE performance of – an 1849 poem by American poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow!

That’s utter heresy!

The atrocity!

A goddamn moron, he is.

Schoen, a 3rd rate goofball, who the Piece of Shit former loser President hired after his first slew of attorneys quit in disgust, after the shit bag insisted that they base their claim of defense that he lost because of massive vote fraud, and they refused.

What?

Giuliani couldn’t do it?

Loser Trumpanzee is a goddamn moron.

Schoen is the 3rd, or 4th string.

Loser Trumpanzee can barely sign his name with a Sharpie permanent marker. He butchers words like “Yosemite” pronouncing it instead as “Yo – Semite” as if he were talking to his bigoted Semite son-in-law, Jared Kushner. Yeah… the bigot who was credibly accused of housing discrimination (he’s a slumlord) against Blacks, and rather than go to trial, agreed to Read the rest of this entry »

Donald Trump Now A 2-Time Loser

Posted by Warm Southern Breeze on Wednesday, January 13, 2021

First POTUS to ever be impeached TWICE.

He also holds the distinction of being the President who has had the most members of his own party vote for his impeachment.

Or perhaps instead, should that be FOUR-TIME LOSER?
1.) Lost 2016 Popular Vote
2.) Impeached December 18, 2019
3.) Lost 2020 Election: Popular -and- Electoral College Vote
4.) Impeached January 13, 2021 in the final days of his totally failed presidency

There are more, but those are the highlights.

Of his impeachment, the venerable truth-telling BBC wrote: Read the rest of this entry »

Pretender Kelly Loeffler Stands With Cardboard Cutout Of Loser Trump. Will it bring good luck, or bad?

Posted by Warm Southern Breeze on Tuesday, December 15, 2020

It’s entire apropos, of course, that Kelly Loeffler should be standing with a cardboard cut-out of Donald Trump, the loser of the 2020 General Election.

It’s a fake candidate standing with a fake of a faker.

That way, she can say that she “stands with” the fake president.

A cheap cardboard cutout is emblematic of his entire term in office, which Read the rest of this entry »

Sore Loser Trumpians Violate Law, Create Problems In Milwaukee County, Wisconsin Vote Recount

Posted by Warm Southern Breeze on Sunday, November 22, 2020

This is your President, America. Revel in the moment when you elected an incompetent idiot.

Surely, this surprises exactly… NO ONE.

Perhaps we should take to calling POS45 the Liar in Chief/Liar n’ Thief, either “Loserman,” or “L-POTUS” for Loser-POTUS.

Remember: In the topsy-turvy surreality world of the Narcissist in Chief, losers win, and winners lose – and he never loses.

America, you voted for a goddamn sicko, a genuinely mentally ill motherfucker, who has weakened America in the eyes of her enemies, and in the eyes of her allies.

Trump is a true Piece Of Shit 45.

Maybe, if the world is lucky, if there’s any justice at all, after he leaves office, he’ll be indicted at the Federal and State levels, prosecuted and convicted, and bankrupted. Hell… maybe even he’ll die, or be incapacitated quickly.

Oh!

And THANKS for praying for him!

“Let his years be few; let someone else take his position.

Wisconsin Officials: Trump Observers Obstructing Recount

By Michael Tarm
Saturday, 21 November 2020

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Election officials in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin’s most populous county, reported that so-called observers with the Trump Campaign were interfering with legal operations by obstructing the recount of legally-cast ballots, and were also attempting to obstruct a recount of the presidential results by objecting to every ballot tabulators randomly pulled to count.

Trump requested a recount in the heavily liberal counties of Milwaukee and Dane hoping to “undo” the Democrat Joe Biden’s victory margin of 20,600 votes. Never in state history has there ever been a recount in elections with such a large margin of victory, and legal experts say that Trump’s strategy is widely perceived as attemping an eventual court challenge, part of an effort in 6 key states – AZ, GA, MI, NV, PA, WI –  to “undo” his election loss.

Milwaukee County Clerk George Christenson said that a steady stream of constant complaints by Republicans in Milwaukee County was significantly delaying the recount, and that many Trump “observers/objectors/obstructors” were violating rules by constantly interrupting vote counters with questions and comments.

Remarking that observers from the Trump campaign “clearly don’t know what they are doing,” he characterized their bad behavior saying “that’s unacceptable.”

Milwaukee County Election Commissioner, Tim Posnanski, reported to his fellow commissioners that Trump campaign representatives were violating rules by Read the rest of this entry »

Loser Trump Is ButtHurt

They tell the truth.

They’re reliable.

2020 Election Results Points Toward Divided Government

Posted by Warm Southern Breeze on Wednesday, November 4, 2020

Previously entitled as: “Is this your “WTF America?!?” moment?”

As these words are being composed, it’s Wednesday morning, November 4, 2020.

Yesterday was the General Election.

Voters went to the polls nationwide to decide if they’d had enough, or if they wanted 4 more years.

Turnout was at all-time highs – literally. Not since 1908 has there been such voter participation. And for the greatest part, things went off without a hitch… despite what the incumbent Chief Executive said, whom is the current occupant of the public housing located at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

There were at least 2 improbabilities for both candidates:

• Impeachment of the POTUS – impeached presidents have never been re-elected (there are now only 3 – Andrew Johnson in 1868, Bill Clinton in 1998 during his 2nd term, and Trump in 2019, while Richard Nixon resigned in 1974 during his 2nd term before he could be impeached), and;
• For the challenger, the fact that historically, aside from succession, former Vice Presidents have not won election as President. Of the 13 former VPs who ever became POTUS, 8 were from Presidential succession, while the remaining 5 were elected in their own right. That’s 5/45, or 11.1% – and they were: John Adams, Jefferson, Van Buren, Nixon, and G.H.W. Bush.

And, as things now stand, there are states which – as the Associated Press characterizes it – are “too close call.” Among them, Pennsylvania, Georgia, and Michigan.

Florida has gone to the incumbent, so says the AP, and was a “must win” for the first term Republican President in order to stay competitive.

At the moment, the Democratic challenger, former Vice President Joe Biden, appears to be leading in Electoral College votes with 227 to the incumbent’s 213.

As things now appear, the election will be a squeaker, and regardless of which candidate wins, neither party will have a clear “mandate” from The People by which to govern.

Trump Shoots Himself

Posted by Warm Southern Breeze on Saturday, October 17, 2020

This image is so ironically apropos.

Why?

It’s what he has done to himself.

The Asshole in Chief – truly, a man with a genuine psychiatric and personality disorder, Narcissism among them – has never taken the job as President of the United States seriously. Not even once.

Last Thursday night – October 15, 2020 – NBC TODAY co-host Savannah Guthrie, a Georgetown Law School-educated attorney – took no quarter when Trump ran his tired and worn deny, deny, deny tactic against her when she took him to task for retweeting some false nutso conspiracy theory crap from the nutso group QAnon.

“You’re the president — you’re not like someone’s crazy uncle who can just retweet whatever!,” she said in response to his el Stupido denials.

America is sick and tired of his bullshittery and gross incompetence.

And, if voter turnout is any indication of voter discontent with his putrid performance in office, we’ll see a Blue Tsunami unceremoniously turn him out of office.

Even deep-red Republican Alabama is having a record turn-out.

A Family First: Joe Kennedy III first in the clan to lose a Massachusetts election

Posted by Warm Southern Breeze on Wednesday, September 2, 2020

To which I say,

GOOD!

It’s about damn time!

Joe Kennedy III, who is the 40-year old grandson of slain Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy, challenged incumbent Ed Markey for the state’s upcoming U.S. Senate seat in the Democratic primary.

Kennedy lost.

It was a landmark, a high water mark, an event of immensely significant importance.

Perhaps it even intoned cataclysmic changes ahead.

Good ones, of course.

Just like “good trouble.”

The Boston Globe characterized Kennedy’s campaign style as an “increasingly bare-knuckled offensive,” while the headlines across the world were interesting… if not telling.

Let’s examine a few of the headlines from throughout the nation, and then, we’ll move along to WHY it’s a good thing that not-so-poor little Joe P. Kennedy III lost.

• The Boston Globe had a straight-forward “Ed Markey beats Joe Kennedy in Senate primary.

• While the Boston Herald wrote a more colorful, “Joe Kennedy, others lose out to the old geezer incumbents.”

• The Daily Mail of the United Kingdom, however, had a more telling, embarrassing, and detailed pronouncement, “The end of a dynasty: RFK’s grandson Joe Kennedy III becomes the first member of his family to lose a Massachusetts election as he is defeated in Senate primary in JFK’s old seat.

• New York’s venerable “Gray Lady” wrote semi-wishful we-wish-it-was-almost-a-contest type of headline as, “Markey Holds Off Joseph Kennedy in Massachusetts Senate Race.”

• The Rupert Murdoch-owned right-leaning tabloid-type New York Post wrote, “Joe Kennedy III suffers stinging defeat to Ed Markey in Mass. Senate primary.

• The Daily Beast wrote an unvarnished sobriquet, “Sen. Ed Markey Fends Off Challenge From Rep. Joe Kennedy III-Camelot Lost.”

• NPR wrote a steady-as-she-goes observation that, “Markey Fends Off Kennedy Challenge In High Profile Mass. Senate Primary.

• The Los Angeles Times wrote a semi-obituary with, “A Kennedy loses in Massachusetts and a storied dynasty fades.

• The Hill composed a  bare bones headline with, “Markey defeats Kennedy in Massachusetts.

• POLITICO wrote a blame-game headline with, “The Unlikely Kennedy Who Ended the Kennedy Dynasty.

• Ever the standard, the Associated Press wrote, “Markey defeats Kennedy III in Massachusetts’ Senate primary.”

• Business Insider wrote a more opinionated headline with, “Ed Markey defeats primary challenger Rep. Joe Kennedy, in a major victory for the left.

• Bloomberg wrote a fact-based, plain-Jane headline with, “Ed Markey Wins Massachusetts Democratic Primary, Defeating Joe Kennedy.

• The Chicago Tribune similarly wrote a fact-based headline with, “Sen. Edward Markey defeats Rep. Joe Kennedy III in Massachusetts’ Senate primary.”

• CNN had a different historical name recognition perspective with, “Sen. Ed Markey defeats a Kennedy in Massachusetts.

• CQ RollCall wrote, “A Massachusetts first: Kennedy loses Senate primary to Markey.”

• The Guardian wrote a fact-based, “Edward Markey defeats Joe Kennedy in Massachusetts Democratic primary.

• United Press International wrote a no-frills, straight-forward, “Ed Markey defeats Joe Kennedy III in Massachusetts primary race.”

Here’s also a wee bit of background to aid understanding.

Joseph Patrick Kennedy, Sr. (wearing glasses) family portrait

The Kennedy name, of course, is renown in American politics. And for perspective, Joe P. III is the grandson of the slain Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy (1925-1968). And Joe P. III is named for the family progenitor, Joseph Patrick Kennedy (1888-1969) – long rumored by numerous sources to have been a bootlegger during Prohibition, which, if the sources were lying, and the claim not true, would question their motives, since the senior Kennedy has long been dead.

That piddling matter aside, however, suffice it to say that the Kennedy family is wealthy… VERY wealthy. Maybe not Bill Gates, or Warren Buffet wealthy, but wealthy nonetheless. Forbes magazine writer Carl O’Donnell in the July 8, 2014 online edition, wrote about the Kennedy family wealth as follows:

“If America had an aristocracy, the most titled bloodline would certainly be the Kennedys. In the past half century, one Kennedy after another has occupied nearly every political position America has to offer, including the roles of congressman, senator, ambassador, mayor, SEC chairman, state representative, city councilman, and, of course, President.

“The sustaining force behind the Kennedys reign is hardly a secret. Thanks to Joseph P. Kennedy, who made a fortune from insider trading only to later chair the SEC, the family is fabulously rich. But exactly how much is America’s first family worth? Forbes pegs the extended family’s fortune at $1 billion.

“Protected by a labyrinth of trusts, as well as tax strategies that would make Joseph P. Kennedy proud, the Kennedy fortune now spans approximately 30 family members, and includes the surnames Shriver, Lawford and the Smith. At nearly $175 million as of 2013, Caroline Kennedy is the richest descendant by far, but more modestly endowed relatives, such as Robert Shriver, who is running for Los Angeles County Supervisor, still possess assets in the tens of millions, according to public financial disclosures required of government officials.

“The bulk of the family’s wealth is held in dozens of trusts, which range in value from tens of thousands to as much as $25 million. Nearly all are managed by Joseph P. Kennedy Enterprises, a family office located in New York City with assets dating back to 1927, according to Christopher Kennedy, a member of the Kennedy family who sits on the office’s board.

“Joseph P. Kennedy’s choice to place his fortune in trusts is possibly the single most critical reason why the family wealth is still around today. The most obvious benefit was to protect the fortune from the prying fingers of ne’er-do-well heirs, said Laurence Leamer, who wrote three Kennedy biographies. Trusts often prevent beneficiaries from tapping more than 10 percent of principal, said Rick Kruse, principal at Kruse and Crawford, which offers estate management advice.

“The trusts also protect the family assets from another set of prying fingers: Uncle Sam’s. By holding assets in so called “dynasty trusts,” which are passed from heir to heir for decades, if not longer, the Kennedy family fortune is largely insulated from the estate tax, Kruse said. Handled correctly, a dynasty trust could potentially maintain an un-taxable fortune indefinitely. The oldest Kennedy trust on record dates back to 1936.

“Like politics, tax savvy seems to run in the Kennedy family. The most recent example is Read the rest of this entry »

How BAD is Trump’s Economy?

Posted by Warm Southern Breeze on Sunday, August 2, 2020

Trump’s economy is so bad, that…

Before we talk about how BAD it is, first…

Let’s turn to some official agencies to answer that question.

We’ll start with information from the Bureau of Economic Analysis, and the St. Louis Federal Reserve’s Economic Data.

Here’s a picture – it’s said that they’re worth 1000 words.

The DARK GRAY is Trump’s term in office, while the white line reflects the Real Gross Domestic Product (GDP – “real” means adjusted for inflation year-to-year) – which has consistently increased since Obama’s first quarter in his first term in office.

The MEDIUM GRAY (and DARK GRAY) areas represent the extent of Trump’s Economic Losses.

The LIGHT GRAY (at G.W. Bush’s end of term in office -and- presently) are representative of Economic Recessions.

So now that you’ve had an opportunity to examine the chart, let’s Read the rest of this entry »

Are you ready? FOUR MORE YEARS OF TRUMP

Posted by Warm Southern Breeze on Tuesday, March 10, 2020

Official Portrait, President Donald Trump-R (b.1946)

Can you say…

“FOUR MORE YEARS”?

Increasingly, it looks like it’s gonna’ be yet ANOTHER Popular Vote win, and Electoral College loss for the Democrats in 2020.

And, as I have said, in a very perverse way, DT will have been VERY good for America, precisely because his abuses and corruption have pointed out every area of weakness in our laws pertaining to the Office of the President and of governmental operations, but because another recession is coming on, as Wall Street has warned, and is – once again – demonstrating that corruption by Wall $treet, the Banksters, and BIG INSURANCE still harms America.

And we have so MANY, MANY needs!

Reform of our voting systems, so that they can’t be hacked, manipulated, or gerrymandered.

So that life-saving, life-giving medications are readily and freely available to ALL The People.

So that people are AUTOMATICALLY Registered to Vote, and Vote by U.S. Postal Service mail is enabled in ALL 50 states.

So that once again, American Foreign Policy no longer unwantedly meddles in other nations’ internal affairs.

So that Healthcare is readily available to EVERYONE, not just those in cities or suburbs, and that Hospitals are OPENED and not closed.

So that The People can TRULY vote FOR their Presidential candidate of choice by ELIMINATING the Electoral College.

So that Schools and Education are not merely “adequately” funded, but have MORE than enough.

So that racist and discriminatory practices in voting registrations and purges are made ILLEGAL.

So that our Congress (House & Senate) is Term Limited to 20 years TOTAL service.

So that the security, safety, and Read the rest of this entry »

America To Take 5th Place To Australia On Drone Safety

Posted by Warm Southern Breeze on Monday, December 24, 2018

But not in ‘Murka. We’se too smart f’dat!

Why can’t America have nice things?

Because the Republicans are stealing the money to pay for any of it, and giving it to their rich friends.

Authorities in Australia have expressed worries about the number of drones being flown in restricted areas in recent months.

Almost 140,000 air travellers were delayed last week after reports of drone sightings caused huge delays at Gatwick Airport in England. UK police are still searching for the culprits, although they have also raised the possibility that witness reports of the aircraft were mistaken.

The incident “highlights” the need for a drone-spotting capability, Casa spokesman Peter Gibson told the news agency Agence France-Presse.

The surveillance system would be able to spot the types of drone being flown, read their serial numbers and work out where the pilot was located, he said.

Efforts to identify pilots would be aided by the introduction of the registration scheme for commercial and casual drone owners, he added.

Anyone breaking rules could face fines of up to 10,000 Australian dollars ($7,058; £5,600) as well as checks on the safety of their craft.

“2019 will be a drone safety crackdown,” said Mr Gibson.

As well as airports and other sensitive locations, the drone-spotting systems will be installed in other places known to be popular with drone owners such as the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Mitt Romney “never wanted to be president,” says son Tagg.

Posted by Warm Southern Breeze on Thursday, December 27, 2012

The story behind Mitt Romney’s loss in the presidential campaign to President Obama

It was two weeks before Election Day when Mitt Romney’s political director signed a memo that all but ridiculed the notion that the Republican presidential nominee, with his “better ground game,” could lose the key state of Ohio or the election. The race is “unmistakably moving in Mitt Romney’s direction,” the memo said.

But the claims proved wildly off the mark, a fact embarrassingly underscored when the high-tech voter turnout system that Romney himself called “state of the art” crashed at the worst moment, on Election Day.

To this day, Romney’s aides wonder how it all went so wrong.

They console each other with claims that the election was much closer than realized, saying that Romney would be president if roughly 370,000 people in swing states had voted differently. Romney himself blamed demographic shifts and Obama’s “gifts”: federal largesse targeted to Democratic constituencies.

But a reconstruction by the Globe of how the campaign unfolded shows that Romney’s problems went deeper than is widely understood. His campaign made a series of costly financial, strategic, and political mistakes that, in retrospect, all but assured the candidate’s defeat, given the revolutionary turnout tactics and tactical smarts of President Obama’s operation.

One of the gravest errors, many say, was the Romney team’s failure, until too late in the campaign, to sell voters on the candidate’s personal qualities and leadership gifts. The effect was to open the way for Obama to define Romney through an early blitz of negative advertising. Election Day polls showed that the vast majority of voters concluded that Romney did not really care about average people.

These failures are now the subject of scrutiny by national GOP officials who say they plan to Read the rest of this entry »
