It’s no joke, Colorado is ROLLING (pun intended) in revenue from the taxes and licensing fees associated with legal cannabis sales.
From the Colorado Department of Revenue:
Colorado Marijuana Tax Data
“Total marijuana tax revenue includes the 2.9% retail and medical marijuana sales tax, 10% retail marijuana special sales tax, 15% marijuana excise tax, and retail/medical marijuana application and license fees.”
For the month of September 2015 (reported October 2015), Colorado had TOTAL (Total All Marijuana Taxes, Licenses) $11,656,736.
On an annualized basis, that’s at least $139,880,832.
The rhetorical question is:
What could Sweet Home do with even half the money like that?
Consider also this: That the legalization of cannabis also largely eliminates Read the rest of this entry »

Now… please tell me again why we pay taxes.

A Hard Working American pays the Tax Cuts for the Wealthy
At least, why does the working man pay taxes?
We mustn’t forget those poor, poor multi-milionaire type rich folks who live off money they didn’t work to earn, who pay far, far less than you or I.
What is it called? Interest income?
And what was that tax break for Rich Folk called?
Oh yes… the Capital Gains Tax Cut – sometimes also called the Paris Hilton Tax Cut. Read the rest of this entry »

Thank you, Islamist extremists, for demonstrating that freedom isn’t free.
If there’s one thing you can’t tolerate, it’s tolerance.
I don’t watch South Park. On rare occasion, while “channel surfing,” I’ve passed through it, stopping only briefly. What I’ve seen has never impressed me.
Sure, there are folks whom enjoy the program, but I’m not one, and I never have been.
Most recently however, it has come to the attention of the people of the United States of America – sometimes also known as “the Great Satan” by Islamist extremists – and throughout the world, that some Muslims will kill you… if they don’t like what you say.
What a shame. What a damn, crying shame.
Before I continue, let me say this: …Continue…

So-called “tea” partiers may be disappointed
The Tax Policy Center (TPC), a non-partisan policy analysis and collaborative effort of the Brookings Institution and Urban Institute, both Washington, D.C. think-tanks, recently reported that 47% of all Americans will not pay income tax for the 2009 tax year.
President Obama’s “Making Work Pay” tax credits, and his American Recovery and Reinvestment Tax Act of 2009 (Public Law 111-5) have further reduced income tax burdens on Americans.
Because of his initiatives, more than half of all elderly households, families with children, and other Americans will pay no income tax this year. More than 75% of married couples and single heads of households with income between $30,000 – 40,000 will pay no income tax. And more than 90% of all households with children will have no tax liability this year.
The Tax Policy Center estimated President Obama’s policies significantly lowered the tax burden on average Americans, …Continue…
