State board rejects rule that could close nonprofit spay/neuter clinics

MONTGOMERY, Alabama – It was a victory this afternoon for nonprofit spay and neuter clinics as a state board quietly rejected a proposed rule that animal advocates said would have effectively shut the clinics down.
The Alabama State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners unanimously voted to reject a proposed rule related to the ownership and operation of veterinarian equipment and operations.
