USDA: Eggs have Less Cholesterol, More Vitamin D than We Thought
Posted by Warm Southern Breeze on Wednesday, February 9, 2011
Seems the USDA has “egg on their face.” Maybe it should be in their bellies instead?
First, eggs were bad.
Now, they’re good.
Then coffee was evil.
Now, it’s not.
Next was chocolate.
Too bad… seems now, it’s A-OK!
And for goodness sake! Do NOT under ANY circumstances drink wine, liquor or beer!
But now, it’s okay to have a few drinks.
And heaven help us all… the beef! Where’s the beef!?! You’re surely gonna’ DIE!
Well… maybe not as quickly as we once thought. Beef’s okay.
My friends, beware “Schizophrenic Science”! Particularly dietary-related science!
Remember the “Twinkie Diet“! …Click HERE to read the good news!…

On a Cold Winter’s Day, it’s time for Hot Chocolate, Hot Cocoa – anything to keep warm and cozy… WHILE GOING STIR CRAZY!
Posted by Warm Southern Breeze on Friday, January 14, 2011
For the past hour or two, I have found myself relaxing as I’ve not relaxed in several days.
Here, in the Southeast, we’ve been inundated with wintry weather. Specifically, on the night of the 10th of January, parts of the South received up to a foot (12″) of powdery snow. As a matter of fact, it was recently reported that 49 of our 50 states had snow somewhere in them. That solitary exception… what state was it? Florida, of course! Even Hawaii has snow capped peaks.
Not being familiar with snow, any forecast of snow in the South generates great skepticism, and continues to …Continue reading…

Chocoloate… once evil, now good!
Posted by Warm Southern Breeze on Monday, April 19, 2010
Since it seems we’re on a roll with this food thing, ladies and gentlemen, may I introduce to you…
Schizophrenic science!
That’s how I describe the “don’t eat this, that or the other foods” crowd.
First, eggs were evil, because it was discovered they had cholesterol! Then, we discovered there were two kinds of cholesterol. Then, eggs were okay. But afterward, those researchers never revealed they didn’t have all the information to begin with.
Then, wine, liquor, beer and other spiritous beverage was gonna’ kill you. Then researchers said it was some stuff in the skins of grapes, which made red wine okay to drink. Then, it was proanthocyanidins (commonly called Pycnogenol® – see? They have something they wanna’ sell to you! Please refer to my previous entry entitled “Eat me… Drink me… It’ll cure what ails you! (But by law, I can’t guarantee that.)“), which was found in the seeds, later found in pine bark. Then… they later learned it was simply the alcohol itself that was beneficial. So now, it’s okay to have a beer, glass of wine, or mixed drink. “But only in moderation!,” they emphasize.
Next thing, coffee was bad for you. Now, it’s good.
Fatty fish, such as salmon, mackerel, and sardines were next up. Matter of fact, all fat was “evil!” Ban fat! Fat free this, that and the other. “No-cal,” “lo-cal,” all became the bywords of a gullible public. “All the flavor and zero calories!,” boasted some food and drink products. Lite (and less flavorful) beers followed suit. Then SMASH – Salmon, Mackerel, Anchovies, Sardines, Herring – were found to contain omega 3, 6, 9 fatty acids… which are “good for your heart/ heart healthy.” So it was okay to eat fish again.
Then carbs were evil. But it was later discovered that …Continue…

Winter has officially arrived in Dixieland… “where I was born one frosty morn’…”
Posted by Warm Southern Breeze on Monday, January 4, 2010
You know the adage, “cold hands… warm heart.”
But that’s not all that’s cold!
It’s so cold, that instead of giving milk, the cows are giving ice cream!
And after taking the doug… er, dog outside this morning, upon returning inside to the toasty warmth of the house, and sensation began to return to my body – cold exerts a numbing, or anesthetic effect – somehow, I felt as if I were a little less of a man.
See what dogs do to you?!
Damn dog!
