Putin, Zelenskyy, and Biden Walk Into a Bar…

Putin, Zelenskyy, and Biden walk Into a bar.

Putin orders a Ukrainian invasion.

Biden says, “I’ll have the same.”

Zelenskyy spends all his time trying to keep the bartender from serving either one.

Western “media” outlets, and others — including the U.S. Congress, most notably — are but paying lip service to Ukraine, and their struggle to oust the tyrannical madman and international terrorist, Russian president Vladimir Putin.

There is no shortage of “I stand with,” or “I support Ukraine” expressions, either by decorative building lights in the evening, or signage so expressing. Even some businesses are in on the symbolic support, including liquor stores, which have conducted well-publicized publicity stunts to waste Russian vodka.

Then, of course, there’s the moron factor — GOPers who support the invading force, and its tyrant Putin.

In response, the President has stated that he’ll impose strict sanctions against Russia, but again, it’s a largely symbolic effort because it’s merely halfhearted, and fully hypocritical, because of things like this:

Treasury Department Assures Wall Street It Can Still Trade Russian Oil And Gas

In a stunningly hypocritical move this afternoon (Friday March 4, 2022), Andrea M. Gacki, Director of the Office of Foreign Assets Control with the U.S. Treasury Department issued a policy statement in a PDF document posted on their website, which stated in part that,

“In general, energy-related activities — including the purchase, sale, or transport of Russian-origin oil, gas, or other energy-related products by U.S. or non-U.S. persons — remain permissible.”

In essence, it “clarified” that WALL STREET’S TRADERS AND BANKS CAN CONTINUE TO BUY AND SELL RUSSIAN OIL AND GAS, and that U.S. sanctions against Russia’s biggest banks — including VTB Bank — do NOT apply to energy transactions… until June 24.

So, TRADE AWAY, boys & girls!

You’re at liberty to capitalize upon armed conflict, and terrorism!

Meanwhile, back at the White House, U.S. President Vladimir… whoops! U.S. President Joseph R. Biden, Jr. is conflicted about whether, or not, to put the kibosh on oil & natural gas imports from Russia… even though imported Russian oil accounts for only 6.87% as a portion of imported oil, and “the amount of imported Russian oil as a percentage of domestically-produced oil, is 4.78%, while as a percentage of ALL oil, imported -&- produced domestically, it’s only 2.82%.” All that, according to figures provided by the Energy Information Administration, about which I wrote 2 days ago.

POTUS BIDEN has taken an astoundingly strong stance adopted a phenomenally weak position by merely politely asking the Russian thug Putin to “Please, Mr. Putin… stop invading Ukraine.”

In his State Of The Union (SOTU) address before a joint session of Congress on March 1 , he merely tickled Putin’s fancy by saying in part that,

“Together, along with our Allies, we are right now enforcing powerful economic sanctions. We’re cutting off Russia’s largest banks from the international financial system; preventing Russia’s Central Bank from defending the Russian rubil [sic] — ruble, making Putin’s $630 billion war fund worthless. We’re choking Russia’s access — (applause) — we’re choking Russia’s access to technology that will sap its economic strength and weaken its military for years to come.

“Tonight, I say to the Russian oligarchs and the corrupt leaders who’ve bilked billions of dollars off this violent regime: No more. (Applause.)

“The United States — I mean it. (Applause.) The United States Department of Justice is assembling a dedicated task force to go after the crimes of the Russian oligarchs.

“We’re joining with European Allies to find and seize their yachts, their luxury apartments, their private jets. (Applause.) We’re coming for your ill-begotten gains.

“And, tonight, I’m announcing that we will join our Allies in closing off American air space to all Russian flights, further isolating Russia and adding an additional squeeze on their economy. (Applause.)”

Yeah. Ain’t that great, grand, and glorious?

Hardly.

Putin just laughs at those measures.

But the insulting part is when he said this:

“Together with our Allies, we’re providing support to the Ukrainians in their fight for freedom: military assistance, economic assistance, humanitarian assistance. We’re giving more than a billion dollars in direct assistance to Ukraine. And we’ll continue to aid the Ukrainian people as they defend their country and help ease their suffering. (Applause.)

“But let me be clear: Our forces are not engaged and will not engage in the conflict with Russian forces in Ukraine. Our forces are not going to Europe to fight [in] Ukraine but to defend our NATO Allies in the event that Putin decides to keep moving west.”

POTUS BIDEN is merely square dancing with Putin; he’s do-si-do-ing, promenade your partner, then allemande left, allemande right, all join hands and circle left, break and swing your partner, pass through… star through.

Let’s all dance to the Cotton-Eyed Joe!

How absurd, eh?

Yeah, I thought so.

Let’s say a neighbor’s house is on fire, or maybe even you see a group of thugs breaking in. You’re on friendly terms with the homeowner, but not members of the same country club.

What do you do?

Call your neighbor and offer milk and cookies? Thoughts and prayers? Say that you don’t support the “defund the police” movement?

No.

You call the cops IMMEDIATELY!

And then, they go in and ask the thugs, “Hey, y’all… just wanted to check with you to see if there’s anything we can do for you.”

NO!

Several squad cars arrive with all officers’ weapons drawn, and they enter the house to take REMOVE the home invaders.

That’s NOT what POTUS BIDEN is doing.

Seems that Uncle Joe still wants to import Russian oil. Given the Treasury Department’s stance, that should surprise exactly NO ONE.

Meanwhile, back in Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy has survived three assassination attempts in one week, because his security team was warned about the attempts that would be made upon his life.

But think about what this is like for Ukrainians.

It’s like this: You have a neighbor down the street from where you live. You’re on casual speaking terms kind of friendly, but are not particularly close. Your kids don’t play with their kids, and you’re not members of the same country club. One day, you see a big truck, or two, pull up into their driveway while no one’s at home, and a cadre of about 15-20 men all start using various tools to jimmy the door open, and finally gain access to the house. They all rush in and start hauling out articles of furniture, and other things.

The trucks have no markings on them to ID them as moving vans, and none of the men are wearing any uniforms to that effect, either.

Then, it dawns on you. Your neighbor’s house has been broken into, and is being robbed… in BROAD DAYLIGHT.

So, you just sit there, and watch it all unfold, because you don’t have their telephone number, and what’s worse, you don’t even bother calling the cops. But you do holler out your front door at them to stop, send thoughts and prayers — along with finger foods, tea cakes, and cold drinks — to their neighbors, as they also watch the marauders. Because, goodness knows, robbery in broad daylight is difficult work, and they’re bound to be hungry, especially as hard as they’ve been watching!

THAT is what’s going on in Ukraine.
