Facebook is now Dead

FACEBOOK is now Dead.
Long live Facebook!
The company formerly known as “Facebook,” whose CEO/Chairman of the Board is Mark Zuckerberg – whom is Jewish – amidst increasingly withering criticism of longstanding unscrupulous, unAmerican, and unethical activity by the company, has recently announced that he has unilaterally decided to change the company’s name to “Meta.”
The perverse irony of that matter, is that the English word “meta,” as spoken, is the Hebrew word for “dead.”
The Hebrew word מֵ֣ת (mêṯ) is a verb, in the perfect, third person tense, and is the singular of מוּת (muth) meaning “to die,” or “to kill.”
That’s entirely appropriate, of course, considering that the company has conducted internal research which has conclusively proven that Facebook’s secret algorithms have caused suicides in pre-teens, especially little girls.
Frances Haugen, a former Facebook executive and data scientist for the social media behemoth, testified October 5, 2021 before the United States Senate Commerce Committee’s Sub-Committee on Consumer Protection, Product Safety, and Data Security, and stated in part that,
“The company’s leadership knows how to make Facebook and Instagram safer, but won’t make the necessary changes because they have put their astronomical profits before people. Congressional action is needed. They won’t solve this crisis without your help.”

Facebook recruited Ms. Haugen in 2018, and the next year, she became a product manager in the Civic Integrity Department.
In September 2021, The Wall Street Journal published a 9-part investigative series entitled The Facebook Files: A Wall Street Journal Investigation, which they describe as being “based on a review of internal Facebook documents, including research reports, online employee discussions and drafts of presentations to senior management.”
The WSJ investigation detailed Facebook’s effects upon youth, policy exemptions for high-profile users who violated the company’s platform rules, the effects of the 2018 algorithm changes, known systemic weaknesses that enabled and facilitated human trafficking and narcotrafficking, and how it actively promoted lies about public health and vaccines on an international, global level.
“Facebook Inc. knows, in acute detail, that its platforms are riddled with flaws that cause harm, often in ways only the company fully understands. That is the central finding of a Wall Street Journal series, based on a review of internal Facebook documents, including research reports, online employee discussions and drafts of presentations to senior management.
“Time and again, the documents show, Facebook’s researchers have identified the platform’s ill effects. Time and again, despite congressional hearings, its own pledges and numerous media exposés, the company didn’t fix them. The documents offer perhaps the clearest picture thus far of how broadly Facebook’s problems are known inside the company, up to the chief executive himself.”
Ms. Haugen was later interviewed by the CBS news program 60 Minutes, which aired October 3, 2021, and in part stated that, “The thing I saw at Facebook over and over again was, there were conflicts of interest between what was good for the public, and what was good for Facebook. And Facebook, over and over again, chose to optimize for its own interests, like making more money.”
Presently, it does not appear that Congress is any any mood to regulate. Or, more accurately, the Banana Republicans in Congress are in no mood to regulate, for to them, to do so, is anathema, despite the overwhelming evidence to the contrary, that regulation improves efficiency, effectiveness, and operability. Simply look at sports games, or your automobile as an example. Without regulation, sports games would be mere free-for-alls, utterly pointless melees, and your automobile would, quite literally self-destruct, were its regulations either eliminated, or so altered that they became uselessly ineffective. Automobile engine timing is a perfect example.
And so, the Democratic majority in the House and (just barely with the Vice President’s vote) in the Senate is hanging by a thread, and the American people in turn, continue suffering.
