Phil Valentine Has Died

Phil Valentine is dead.
Nashville-based talk radio show host Phil Valentine has died of COVID-19.

During a live broadcast today (Saturday, 21 August 2021) at 4:15PM on SuperTalk 99.7 WTN, several of Phil Valentine’s coworkers & close friends announced they had spoken with his brother Mark, who confirmed the 61-year-old had died earlier in the afternoon.
Following his infection with COVID-19, Mr. Valentine had been hospitalized at Williamson County Medical Center, in nearby Franklin, TN, a tony suburb south and sightly west of Nashville, since July.
On July 11th, mere days after his positive diagnosis, he posted a note to his Facebook page (seen above) noting that he had been infected, and was diagnosed POSITIVE with the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, which causes COVID-19 (COrona VIrus Disease 2019).
On July 13, Mr. Valentine wrote on his Facebook page that, “You need to have a plan in case you get COVID. Make SURE you get your vitamin D3 level checked… And then have a doctor on speed dial who will write you a prescription for ivermectin. If you’re high risk of dying from COVID I still strongly suggest you consider the vaccine, but this it totally your choice. Just make sure you’re prepared if you decide against the vaccine.”
Early in the pandemic, and later in, physicians learned that ivermectin, a medication mostly known for treating livestock, and canines, as a parasitic, which also has very limited human approval for equally limited conditions, did not successfully treat the coronavirus disease. While there were some scientific papers published that questioned the effectiveness of using such modality of treatment, the research was performed IN VITRO, i.e., in a test tube, or Petri dish – NOT on live animals, nor on humans.
Nevertheless, numerous conspiracy theorists and others continued deliberately spreading disinformation about the medicine, falsely claiming that it successfully treated the disease.
Consequently, at least one state’s residents – Mississippi – has seen a significant increased in poisonings from ivermectin ingestion, which is readily available without prescription at any farm supply store to treat farm animals.
Through his July 13th Facebook post, Phil Valentine actually helped spread disinformation about COVID-19. He actually harmed, rather than helped people.
The next day later, on July 14th, in response to a comment made on his Facebook page, Mr. Valentine wrote, “I certainly am not getting the vax now, I have full immunity.”
Mr. Valentine was a infamous skeptic of the coronavirus disease, and of the vaccines, and mocked the national inoculation campaign in a parody song which he entitled “Vaxman” and was sung to the Beatles’ tune “Taxman.” He sang the parody tune himself, which in part said, “If you don’t like me coming ‘round, be thankful I don’t hold you down.”
Following his diagnosis, Mr. Valentine’s condition continually worsened with calculable rapidity, never showing any signs of improvement, and every public report ever given by his family of his condition, demonstrated his rapid, painfully treacherous decline in health… though they liked to keep the best face forward, in order to “save face” as much as possible with an obviously dying public figure, who had made light of the disease.
A public post on July 25 made to Twitter by the Nashville local radio station hosting his show revealed the severity of his condition.
A bipap machine (bilevel positive airway pressure) is explained in simple terms on this Johns Hopkins website:
BiPap is only one type of positive pressure ventilator. While using BiPap, you receive positive air pressure when you breathe in and when you breathe out. But you receive higher air pressure when you breathe in. This setting is different from other types of ventilators.
A high-flow O2 set-up is another tool in the physician’s toolbox to treat various conditions affecting the lungs. Typical high-flow O2 delivery may often be between 30-60 liters per minute (but can deliver between 3 and 120 LPM) of 100% oxygen, with heated 100% humidity. A typical oxygen supplementation treatment via standard nasal cannula is about 3 liters per minute. Average adult lung capacity is about 6 liters, and a standard average resting respiratory rate for adults is between 12-20 breaths per minute (inhale & exhale is 1 breath cycle).
Oxygen concentration at lower elevations, including at sea level, is typically about 21% oxygen, 78% nitrogen, with the 1% remainder being a variety of other gases, including argon, helium, water vapor, CO2, etc. Because oxygen is a heavy molecule, it stays closer to Earth’s surface for that reason. As elevation increases, oxygen concentration decreases, and at higher altitudes, beginning, even, at 2000 feet, where it becomes, on average 19.4%, and at 3000-30,000 feet elevation, oxygen concentration in air goes from about 18.6% to 6.3%, respectively. Higher elevations have a higher concentration of hydrogen and helium, the two lightest elements (both of which are gasses, like oxygen).
So it’s easy to see that, early on, his physicians were SERIOUSLY THROWING THE OXYGEN to Phil. And that is representative of seriously deteriorated lung ability.
It was only a matter of days after he had announced his positively infective diagnosis with COVID-19, that his family publicly announced that he had been hospitalized because of the infection, and had begun to be given extreme oxygenation supplementation measures, and then shortly after that, was intubated and placed on a ventilator, at which time, he was said to be “fighting for his life.”
He was placed on a ventilator only two weeks after his hospitalization, though his family couched that move as one made “out of an abundance of caution” in an announcement made on Nashville radio station WTN, which hosted his radio show, they said, in part, that, “Out of an abundance of caution, Phil has decided to be put in a ventilator to give his body much needed rest. We are confident that he will pull through, and thank you for your continued prayers.”
Patients DO NOT get placed on ventilators – which are sometimes also called “breathing machines” because they mechanically inflate the lungs with humidified and oxygenated air – “out of an abundance of caution.” They’re ONLY placed on them IF THEY’RE TOO WEAK TO BREATHE ON THEIR OWN, or if their lungs cannot adequately and properly oxygenate their blood. Intubation and ventilator placement represents a SERIOUSLY SIGNIFICANT decline in condition.
And at that time, as he lay slowly dying, his family, and brother Mark, still attempted to backpedal on Phil’s position on COVID-19 vaccination, and claimed that Phil had never been an “anti-vaxxer,” despite the overwhelming abundance of evidence contrariwise. They wrote that: “Phil would like for his listeners to know that while he has never been an ‘anti-vaxer’ he regrets not being more vehemently ‘Pro-Vaccine.'”
In an interview with Nashville Public Radio station WPLN which was broadcast July 28, 2021, Phil’s brother Mark said in part that,“He wishes he could do it over. His regret [was] ‘I made the decision [not to get vaccinated] based on my situation, but I know now that a lot of people didn’t get the vaccine because I didn’t get the vaccine. And that is what I would like to correct.’”
On July 30th, his brother Mark stated that Phil was going to be placed onto an ECMO machine (Extra Corpreal Membrane Oxygenation, also sometimes called a “heart-lung” machine), which essentially does the work of the heart and lungs — circulating blood, and oxygenating the blood.
That move itself was a graphic example and testimony of how rapidly and severely deteriorated his condition had become, with severely damaged lungs -and- heart, which couid neither oxygenate, nor circulate his blood.
Phil was knocking on Death’s door, and few outside of the medical community have understood that.
Following his intubation and ventilator placement, and then, ECMO placement, Mr. Valentine’s family began to make what became a series of public announcements that more emphatically and accurately reflected his progressively and severely deteriorated condition that had gone from severe, to critical, and then to “grave.”
And now, he’ll be in a grave.

And on the day Phil was admitted to hospital, his brother Mark got vaccinated, and later said, “The Lord works in mysterious ways. Maybe this happened so Phil could talk to people and make sure that more people don’t die.”
His death will speak much more loudly than he ever could.
Phil Valentine, an infamous Nashville, Tennessee-based conservative radio talkshow host and COVID-19 skeptic, died less than 60 days after being infected with, and hospitalized from COVID-19.
