Today, Pope Francis called for a peaceful end to conflict in Afghanistan as a Taliban-led government coup appears imminent.

Reuters reported that in his Sunday address from Saint Peter’s Square after his homily, the Pope said in part that, “I join in the unanimous concern for the situation in Afghanistan. I ask all of you to pray with me to the God of peace so that the clamour of weapons might cease and solutions can be found at the table of dialogue. Only thus can the battered population of that country – men, women, elderly and children – return to their own homes, and live in peace and security, in total mutual respect.”

Right, motherfucker. Like radical right wing Islamic jihadists are seriously gonna’ give you even the time of day. Why not just fly your happy papal ass over there and talk to those ignorant, illiterate savages? All talk, no action.

We’ve burned a TOTAL over $2 TRILLION on that good-for-nothing wasteland hell-hole — money that COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER SPENT HELPING OUR NATION, OUR PEOPLE.

The Costs of War Project by the Watson Institute of International and Public Affairs at Brown University — a team of over 50 scholars, legal experts, human rights practitioners, and physicians, which began their work in 2010 — has estimated that since 2001, the United States has spent $2.26 Trillion on Afghanistan.

They further estimate that the “Global War On Terror” — so named by the George W. Bush administration following the terrorist attacks upon New York City’s World Trade Centers on September 11, 2001 — from FY2001-FY2020, has cost the United States taxpayers over $6.4 Trillion.

“The complete, utter failure of the Afghan National Army – absent our hand-holding – to defend their country is a blistering indictment of a failed 20-year strategy predicated on the belief that billions of U.S taxpayer dollars could create an effective, democratic central government in a nation that has never had one. Staying one more year in Afghanistan means we stay forever, because if 20 years of laborious training and equipping of the Afghan security forces had this little impact on their ability to fight, then another 50 years wouldn’t change anything.”
—Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT), this past week

Secretary of State Antony Blinken also appeared on CNN’s “State of the Union,” and was asked by host Jake Tapper about the rapidly-deteriorating condition in Afghanistan, equating it to America’s withdrawal from Vietnam – the last stand at Saigon – and said that Afghanistan “is not Saigon” as a Taliban takeover of the country now appears to be all but inevitable.

Look at those towel-headed moronic Taliban bastards. They look painfully out of place. That’s because the illiterate ignoramuses are. All of them. Mother fuckers are so goddamn ignorant, they don’t even know that they’re standing underneath a print of Jesus of Nazareth. That’s what lack of education will get you – wholesale ignorance.

“No we’re not,” Blinken said. “Remember, this is not Saigon. We went to Afghanistan 20 years ago with one mission, and that mission was to deal with the folks who attacked us on 9/11 and we have succeeded in that mission.”

“The objective that we set: bringing those who attacked us to justice, making sure that they couldn’t attack us again from Afghanistan — we’ve succeeded in that mission, and in fact we succeeded a while ago. And at the same time, remaining in Afghanistan for another one, five, 10 years is not in the national interest,” he added.

On Sunday morning it was reported that the Taliban had entered Kabul and sent negotiators to the presidential palace to discuss a peaceful transfer of power. Just hours later, it was reported that Afghan President Ashraf Ghani had fled the country, according to The Associated Press.

Tapper asked Blinken if he believed that Afghanistan would now become a “hotbed of terrorism” with the speedy ascension of the Taliban.

The Daily Mail of London reported in part Monday that,

“Kabul airport has reopened with evacuation flights to continue after at least eight people were killed on Monday, including two shot dead by US troops, three run over by taxiing jets and three stowaways who plummeted from the engines of an airborne plane amid chaotic scenes in Afghanistan.

“Three stowaways fell hundreds of feet to their deaths after climbing onto the fuselage of a departing US Air Force C-17 plane as it took off from at Hamid Karzai International Airport, while hundreds of other desperate people tried to cling onto planes as they taxied down the runway.

“Senior US military officials said troops shot and killed two armed Afghans among those trying to get onto the jet while US citizens were evacuated in two separate incidents. A further three people were caught under plane wheels amid scenes of anarchy as the country slips into Taliban control.

The people are quite obviously desperate, but the United States has screwed around in that county FAR TOO LONG. The people, in large part, are also as stupid as a box goddamn rocks – as evidenced by how some of them died.

It won’t get better for the people, and the Taliban savages will be up to their same old bad behavior. Count on it.

Taliban mother fuckers are so goddamn ignorant, they don’t even know that they’re standing under a print of Jesus of Nazareth. That’s what lack of education’ll get you. Abundant ignorance.

Afghanistan is a train wreck. And the Taliban can’t and won’t do a damn thing about it.

Why not?

They’re as fucking stupid – or more so – than the people they abuse. They’re 2, or 3 steps above cave men. At least Allah will save them.

• The majority of Afghanistan’s residents are children aged 0-14 and comprise the single largest segment of the population, with 40.62% of the nation’s population, while 21.26% are aged 15-24, 31.44% are aged 25-54, and a mere 4.01% are aged 55-64.

• Life is hard in that inhospitable land, and the average age for males and females is 19.

• The nation’s infant mortality rate is among the highest globally with 106.75 deaths/1,000 live births.

• Figures from 2018 for children under the age of 5 years underweight — a marker of health — is 19.1%.

• Literacy, defined as those age 15 and over who can read and write, is 43%.

• School life expectancy (primary to tertiary education) averages only 10 years of age nationally, with boys on average quitting at 13, while girls on average quit at age 8. School life expectancy (SLE) is the total number of years of schooling (primary to tertiary) that a child can expect to receive, assuming that the probability of his or her being enrolled in school at any particular future age is equal to the current enrollment ratio at that age. SLE represents the expected number of years of schooling that will be completed, including years spent repeating one or more grades.

When America was last in that land, obliquely and “anonymously,” via secret and international efforts to run the Russian Communist “infidels” out, when the communist Russians departed in failure, we COULD have spent a few extra dollars to build a school for the children. But then-POTUS Ronald Reagan said “NO!” Consequently, the Taliban rushed in to fill that void.

As the book and motion picture “Charlie Wilson’s War” stated at the conclusion, “We fucked up the end game.”

Now, we’ve departed in failure… after only 20 years.

Those who can, and desire to do so, should exist the country as quickly as possible. It’s NOT going to get any better. So said a bunch of nations, including America, in a statement published on the U.S. Secretary of State’s website.

Ghulam Isaczai, Afghanistan’s representative to the UN Security Council told a meeting of the US, Britain, China, Russia and France on Monday that “there are already reports of target killings and looting in the city. Kabul residents are reported that the Taliban have already started house-to-house searches in some neighbourhoods, registering names and looking for people in their target list.”

But again, we were warned about this… just like George W. Bush was warned about the September 11, 2001 attacks in the August 6, 2001 Presidential Daily Brief entitled “Bin Laden Determined to Strike in US.” Only in this case, we were continuously warned nearly 20 years by the Office of the Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction which Congress created to maintain an independent oversight on the billions of dollars the U.S. appropriated for Afghanistan’s reconstruction since 2002. Here’s a link to EVERY report filed by SIGAR: https://www.sigar.mil/allreports/

John Sopko, Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction, told NPR on Sunday that SIGAR released numerous reports, and that he testified before Congress over 50 times to sound the warning in the past 10 years.

“I mean, we’ve been shining a light on it in multiple reports going back to when I started [in] 2012 about changing metrics, about ghosts – ghost soldiers who didn’t exist – about poor logistics, about the fact that the Afghans couldn’t sustain what we were giving them. So these reports have come out.”

SIGAR’s final report will be published Tuesday, 17 August 2021.

American intervention and foreign policy certainly has significant problems – and has for at least the past 50 years – and he said about the 20-year failure in Afghanistan that, “Well, the top-line lesson is that we have a very difficult time developing and implementing a coherent rule, a multi-agency approach to these type of problems. And we got serious problems with the way we send people over there and HR the system. We have serious problems about our procurement system. And we have serious problems of going into a country and not understanding the culture and the makeup of that country.”
