Cancer-Causing Sunscreen Sold In America
Posted by Warm Southern Breeze on Tuesday, August 10, 2021
Summer just doesn’t get any better, does it?
First, the COVID-19, and then, just when you think it’s safe to go in the water… delta variant emerges.
Back to square one.
And now, as if sunburn wasn’t enough, there’s cancer-causing sunscreen.
It’s almost like the bizarre reducēs in the 1993 Bill Murray movie “Groundhog Day.” By the way, the word “reducēs” (pronounced ree – doo – sees), is the nominative, accusative, and vocative masculine and feminine plural cases of “redux.” So now, you know.
Surely, by now, you’ve heard, or read, the news:
Carcinogenic substances, including benzene – a highly flammable industrial chemical – have been found in independent laboratory analyses performed upon 294 unique batches of sun care products from 69 different companies by Valisure a privately held New Haven, CT-based pharmaceutical analytical services company.
On May 25, 2021, Valisure published the laboratory findings that 78 sun screen and after-sun skin care products in which they found benzene, and in part, wrote that,
“Valisure LLC has tested and detected high levels of benzene, a known human carcinogen, in several brands and batches of sunscreen, which are considered drug products by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), as well as in after-sun care products, which are generally regulated by FDA as cosmetics. Benzene is known to cause cancer in humans according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the World Health Organization, and other regulatory agencies. The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) defines benzene as a carcinogen and lists “inhalation, skin absorption, ingestion, skin and/or eye contact” as exposure routes. 27% of samples tested by Valisure contained detectable benzene and some batches contained up to three times the conditionally restricted FDA concentration limit of 2 parts per million (ppm).”
Naturally, in response, manufacturers are issuing recalls, and based upon additional findings, Valisure is encouraging the FDA to widen the recall.
Sadly, that is unsurprising.
Unsurprising that carcinogenic substances would be found in preparations for skin, that is.
In fact, it’s the sad par for the American course.
In fact, there are OVER 1300 ingredients used in American cosmetics, shampoos, ointments, creams, lotions, and sprays, that are BANNED in the European Union.
Is that how America cares for its people? By allowing BIG BUSINESS TO RUN ROUGHSHOD OVER THEM?
The “Almighty Dollar” is worshiped by Wall $treet money-managing minions whose exclusive existence is to make money for their corporate masters. Think of them as prophets of profit.
Republican lawmakers on Capitol Hill – and some Democrats – could not care less, and, if the truth be told, are likely actually happy about such news.
How little they care for life!
All their talk about caring for people, saving babies, and it’s all for naught.

Researchers Ask FDA To Remove More Sunscreens After Another Potential Carcinogen Found
“Dr. Craig Downs, PhD, Executive Director of the nonprofit Haereticus Environmental Laboratory (HEL), led researchers in a letter requesting that products containing the sunscreen ingredient octocrylene be pulled from shelves after it was discovered that it may degrade to benzophenone, a possible carcinogen that can also interfere with hormones such as estrogen.”
Haereticus Environmental Laboratory is a 501(c)(3) non-profit scientific research organization.
