Texas Republican Makes An Easy-To-Understand Argument Against Trump’s False Election Claims

The shocking events that unfolded yesterday in our nation’s capitol – rioting thugs, marauders, and hooligans who violently overthrew and violently invaded our Nation’s Capitol building complex thereby participating in insurrection after being egged on by their losing candidate, the soon-to-be-former President Trump – are unprecedented. Not since the War of 1812 when British soldiers breached and burned our nation’s capitol has the capitol been invaded. The sad part is, that it was brought about EXCLUSIVELY by a Lying, Lawless and Treasonous American President – Trump – whom the GOP has coddled and cultivated.

court cases in various courts of jurisdiction which have consistently held that all of his legal claims were without merit, including appeals to the United States Supreme Court, to which he appointed 3 conservative Justices – Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, and Barrett.

Regarding debunking the repeatedly false claims that President Trump has made about “winning” the Electoral College vote (he did not), I would like to share the following with you, dear reader, for your consideration, and will leave it at that.

Representative Chip Roy (R, TX-21), one of the most conservative members in the House, a staunch supporter of the President, and former chief of staff to Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz, is an honest man who sought the resignation of his state’s Republican Attorney General when it was discovered that the AG was caught up in a bribery scandal. Roy had worked for the AG as his top aide.

In a press release dated January 3, 2021, Representative Chip Roy wrote in part that,

“only the states have authority to appoint electors, in accordance with state law. Congress has only a narrow role in the presidential election process. Its job is to count the electors submitted by the states, not to determine which electors the states should have sent.”

Arkansas Republican Senator Tom Cotton, another ardent advocate for, and supporter of the President, issued a press release dated January 3, 2021, and wrote in part that,

“The Founders entrusted our elections chiefly to the states — not Congress. They entrusted the election of our president to the people, acting through the Electoral College — not Congress. And they entrusted the adjudication of election disputes to the courts — not Congress. Under the Constitution and federal law, Congress’s power is limited to counting electoral votes submitted by the states.”

Representative Roy also wrote that,

“not a single state has submitted multiple conflicting slates of electoral votes. In other words, every state has sent either (a) Biden electors, or (b) Trump electors. Of the six states as to which questions have been raised, five have legislatures that are controlled by Republicans, and they all have the power to send a new slate of electoral votes to Congress if they deem such action appropriate under state law.”

In other words, if the states’ votes in which some GOP Members of Congress are claiming are “fraudulent” with respect to the Presidential Election, so also was the election/re-election of the Republicans in “down ballot” races who represent those states, because they were elected in the very same election, not a different one.

Each of all 50 states’ elections officials have verified, validated, authenticated, and certified the election results in their state.

And yet, no question has been raised doubting the authenticity of their election/re-election, even though they were elected in the very same election.

Why not?

That, my dear reader, is the slithering hypocrisy of the President’s false claims which have been found to be without merit in every court of law in every state in which they were brought – including before the United States Supreme Court, to which the POTUS appointed Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, and Barrett, thus making a conservative majority.

Ours is a nation of laws, not of personalities.

In conclusion, I will say this:

I have long argued FOR the Congress to establish a National Uniform Voting Standards law, which would unify and consolidate ALL election laws in the nation into ONE SINGLE UNIFORM STANDARD.

There are well over 3000 counties/equivalents in our nation, many of which are conflicting county-to-county, and state-to-state. Tennessee, for example, which has 95 counties, is one such example where differences exist, as permitted by state law, in election law county-to-county.

By having ONE SINGLE UNIFORM STANDARD, it would UNIFY our nation, ELIMINATE division and question, and significantly reduce any opportunity for voting-related fraud.

Again, reiterating, here is a simple argument to explain WHY Trump’s claims are FALSE:

If Trump’s loss was the result of various kinds of election-related fraud,
so would be the election of others in the various down-ballot races,
including many Republicans.

But there’s no argument being made claiming “fraud” about them.

Why not?
