Let me guess… some of your best friends are Asian.

Someone tell Geraldo ‘that ship sailed long ago.’

Geraldo Rivera toldĀ President Trump during an interview Thursday that Asian friends of say the term “China virus” has “a racial overtone.”

Rivera, speaking to the president on hisĀ WTAM radio showĀ out of Cleveland, asked Trump about his repeated use of “China virus” to refer to the coronavirus, also known as COVID-19.

“I have some Asian friends who say, you know, that it’s not very polite, that they worry that it has a racial overtone,” Rivera said.

Trump said he doesn’t worry about using the term, adding that he also has Asian friends.

ā€œI do, too. We have great Asian support, and they understand exactly what it is that we’re doing and saying, and they understand how China’s hurt our country,” Trump said.

He then went on to criticize previous administrations for their trade policies with China.

But this is nothing new, per se, because Geraldo said last year that he was giving up on the Idiot in Chief.

ā€œFox News contributor Gerald Rivera admitted that he now finds itĀ near impossible to defend the president.

ā€œIn an interview with theĀ New York TimesĀ that came afterĀ Rivera blew up on a fellow Fox News hostĀ over the ā€œsend her backā€ chant aimed at Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) the longtime Fox personality said he has all but given up on Trump.

ā€œā€œAs much as I have denied it and averted my eyes from it, this latest incident made it impossible,ā€ Rivera confessed.

ā€œā€œMy friendship with the president has cost me friendships, it has cost me schisms in the family, my wife and I are constantly at odds about the president,ā€ he added.

ā€œI do insist that he’s been treated unfairly. But the unmistakable words, the literal words he said, is an indication that the critics were much more right than I.ā€ā€

There’s no news like old news, eh?
