Trump: A Made-for-Teevee President

Posted by Warm Southern Breeze on Wednesday, June 3, 2020

Apparently, the Current White House Occupant (CWHO) thinks that he’s fooling you.

But hopefully, you know the saying:

Fool me once, shame on you;

fool me twice, shame on me.

The origin of the “fooled me once, shame on you…” adage is from an 1817 book entitled “The Court and Character of King James, Written and Taken by Sir A. W., Being an Eye and Ear Witness,” p52 (Sir Anthony Weldon)

POTUS George W. Bush couldn’t get that saying right when he visited East Literature Magnet School in Nashville, Tennessee September 17, 2002 – his remarks are interestingly entirely apropos to today and befitting the CWHO:

“There’s a lot of talk about Iraq on our TV screens, and there should be, because we’re trying to figure out how best to make the world a peaceful place. There’s an old saying in Tennessee — I know it’s in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can’t get fooled again. You’ve got to understand the nature of the regime we’re dealing with. This is a man who has delayed, denied, deceived the world. For the sake of liberty and justice for all, the United Nations Security Council must act, must act in way to hold this regime to account, must not be fooled, must be relevant to keep the peace.

Part of the American history teaches us that we must lead toward a more peaceful world. Part of the history of the world shows that as threats develop, we must deal with them before they become too acute, unmanageable. Part of our history is, is that we’re a peaceful people. We love and long for peace, that we want peace for generations to come. But sometimes we must act in order to achieve the peace.”

It should be noted as well, that there is SIGNIFICANTLY IMMENSE irony in those remarks which are entirely apropos and befittingly descriptive of this POTUS – the Current White House Occupant.

The CHWO is without question “… a man who has delayed, denied, and deceived the world” – AND the American people.

The self-congratulatory whitewashed video POS45 had made of himself in that act was more like

watching him masturbating to an image of himself — the ultimate narcissistic act.

As shown in the sanitized fraudulent video he had made – and in the unedited video made by news organizations during the event – the ONLY words he uttered were “it’s a Bible,” which were made in response to a question asked of him by a reporter – “Is that your Bible?”

POTUS Trump walks past defaced buildings very near the White House along the short walk to St. John’s Church, across the street from the White House. At no time during his presidency has he attended any house of worship for any purpose. His appearance in front of the church – he made no effort to enter – was exclusively for a photo opportunity top hold up a Christian Bible as a prop in front of the church sign, and no other.

Naturally, the video he had made of himself conveniently didn’t show anything remotely like this, which plainly visible was along his self-initiated perp walk.

Note also, that he did NOT carry a Bible at any time during that walk.

It was only handed to him momentarily while in front of the church marquee sign, just like the prop it was, and then taken back.

National Public Radio and other news organizations pointed out the fraudulent nature of the video that he had made shortly thereafter, by writing that, “Set to swelling orchestral music, the video shows nearly no sign of the destruction and debris that days of intense protests have wrought near the White House.”

When interviewed by numerous news-gathering and reporting organizations, the Rev. Dr. Mariann Edgar Budde, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Washington, said in part,

“The Bible is not an American document. It’s not an expression of our country. It’s an expression of the human struggle to serve and love and know God.

He used violent means to ask to be escorted across the park into the courtyard of the church. He held up his Bible after speaking [an] inflammatory militarized approach to the wounds of our nation.”

“He did not pray.”

“He did not offer a word of balm or condolence to those who are grieving. He did not seek to unify the country, but rather he used our symbols and our sacred space as a way to reinforce a message that is antithetical to everything that the person of Jesus – whom we follow, and the gospel texts that we strive to emulate – represent.”

      Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

      And, I agree WHOLEHEARTEDLY!

Recently, I found these video remarks by numerous lifelong Republicans whom plan on NOT voting for Trump (again) to be very enlightening. Perhaps you may, as well. [Republican Voters Against Trump]

It’s interesting to see the variety and number of people lined up in opposition to him, whom have expressed that they not only will not vote for him, but instead, will for FOR the presumptive Democratic nominee, former Vice President Joe Biden.

There’s even substantial scuttlebutt, which is that former POTUS George W. Bush may endorse Biden – and perhaps even his brother, former FL Governor Jeb Bush, as well!

Here’s but one example of the remarks expressing utterly loathsome disgust with the CWHO:

“I’d vote for a tuna fish sandwich before I’d vote for Donald Trump again.”
