The Buck STOPS gets passed at the White House.
936,293 vs 994,509
223,759 + 195,351 + 161,639 + 156,418 + 149,569 + 107,773 = 994,509
Spain + Italy + France + Germany + United Kingdom + Turkey =
United States = 936,293
The difference between 936,293 and 994,293 is slightly over 6%, or 6.19464%, to be exact.
So, let’s express this.
The United States has only 6% fewer total COVID-19 cases than Spain, Italy, France, United Kingdom and Turkey COMBINED.
Let’s examine population.
United States has very nearly 330,000,000 people.
Spain has 47,100,396
Italy has 60,238,522
France has 67,076,000
Germany has 83,149,300
United Kingdom has 66,435,550
Turkey has 83,154,997
Excluding Turkey, the combined total population of those nations is 323,999,768 – or, about 1.8182% less than the United States.
Per 100,000, the infection rate is:
Spain – 475
Italy – 324
France – 241
Germany – 188
United Kingdom – 225
Turkey – 130
Arithmetic AVERAGE – 264
Per 100,000 Average – 244
United States – 284
United States per 100,000 infection rate is 7.57575% higher than the arithmetic average of the 6 next highest European nations, and is 16.39344% higher than the per 100,000 average.
The United States has only 6% fewer cases than the next 6 nations combined, yet has over a 7% higher infection rate per 100,000 arithmetically averaged.
And when examined separately, United States has the 3rd highest infection rate globally per 100,000.
Using the figure 7,645,500,000 for TOTAL global population (tomorrow, global population will be substantially higher, but for now that figure will suffice), the Global Infection rate is 38 per 100,000, or 378 per 1,000,000.
SUNDAY 26 April 2020 0014 Coordinated Universal Time
There are now 2,934,141 confirmed COVID-19 cases globally, 943,865 of which, or 32.1683%, are in the United States – making America BY FAR the single largest repository of COVID-19 disease in the world.
Put another way, in the past 15 hours +/- (at which time I last checked to obtain the figure above – 936,293), the number of CONFIRMED COVID-19 disease cases in America has risen by 505 PER HOUR.
I ask rhetorically:
Are we great yet?
