• In the past 11 days, since April 12, confirmed American COVID-19 cases increased 51.9596%, from 555,398 to 843,981.
• Related deaths increased 112.7730% (from 22,023 to 46,859) in that same period.
• As well, COVID-19 tests performed increased only 60.1311% (from 2,805,892 to 4,493,106).
• The United States now has 31.7338% of all COVID-19 cases globally – BY FAR, the most number AND highest percentage of cases.
South Korea and the United States both reported their first COVID-19 cases the same day, yet the difference in process and outcomes could not be more stark.
South Korea’s population is a little over 51.7 million, while the United States’ population is well over 6x greater – very nearly 330,000,000.
South Korea’s population density is 1,313.1/square mile (507/km²), and over 34x that of the global average (38 per square mile / 14.7 per km²).
United States’ population density is 87/square mile (33.6/km²) – yet the United States has BY FAR the WORLD’S HIGHEST COVID-19 infection numbers.
South Korea’s CDC reports that there are only 10,694 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in that nation, with only 238 related deaths.
In the United States, there are 843,891 confirmed COVID-19 cases, with 46,859 related deaths.
South Korea’s COVID-19 Death Rate is 2.2255%.
United States’ COVID-19 Death Rate is 5.5084%.
South Korea has tested 577,959, or 1.1179%.
United States has tested 4,466,559, or 1.3535%.
