10 GOOD Things COVID-19 Will Cause.

Every period of change in human history has been preceded by chaos and upheaval.

COVID-19 novel coronavirus is exposing our weaknesses, our strengths, where changes are needed and must occur, and where we are performing well.

This illustration reveals ultrastructural morphology exhibited by the COVID-19 novel coronavirus. Note the spikes that adorn the outer surface of the virus, which impart the look of a corona surrounding the virion, when viewed electron microscopically. Image credit: CDC.

There will be positive outcomes, of course, one of which will be that it is no longer necessary for some people to assemble, or congregate in one place to work. It is being proven that work which can be performed remotely, i.e., from one’s residence, will be increasingly utilized, and that will be a net positive outcome in several ways.

Here’s a list of…

10 GOOD Things COVID-19 Will Cause.

• One, it will reduce going-to, and coming-from work-related commuting traffic volume.

• Two, it will increase employee satisfaction, insofar as one will not fight traffic in order to get to work, or home from work.

• Three, because fewer automobiles will be on the roadway, it will reduce automobile emissions, and therefore yield an environmentally net positive result.

• Four, because traffic will be reduced, navigation will be improved, and ease of travel will be improved – especially during rush hour/peak (going-to, and coming-from) times.

• Five, it will increase employee satisfaction because gasoline expenses associated with daily two-way commuting – including associated maintenance and repairs – will be significantly, and in some cases practically eliminated, and therefore, take-home pay will be increased.

• Six, it will increase employee satisfaction by providing employees flexibility.

• Seven, it will improve Public Health by eliminating or significantly limiting exposure to infectious organisms in a collective corporate workplace, and avoiding “Sick Building Syndrome.”

• Eight, it will reduce energy consumption by corporations and other businesses, and their associated costs, and therefore increase their profitability.

• Nine, through reduced traffic volume, it will save taxpayer dollars by lengthening the life expectancy of roadways, and reduce associated demands for repairs.

• Ten, it will increase employee satisfaction by eliminating being around irritating and irritably unpleasant people… including bad bosses.
