What Motivates Roy Moore Supporters?

I have asked many Roy Moore supporters why they support him.
As far as I can tell, their single unifying thread is that they seem to believe in, and surreptitiously advocate for some type of “theocratic” type government. And as far I can discern, or have observed, many Moore supporters, lack higher education, can neither think logically nor critically, and attempt to rationalize or justify their support of him in a manner similar to what one might suppose an old-time Southern Confederate might do… which is to be “a rebel without a cause,” asserting that in some weird way, they are persecuted.
Again, they possess, as far as I can tell, an attitude in which they hold themselves out as being a euphemistic “solitary candle in a very dark cave.”
They are also authoritarian, rather than libertarian (referring to being freedom loving, NOT the political ideology), and do NOT understand the concept of grace (as taught, preached, and lived by Jesus the Christ), and have a deep-seated animosity toward anything remotely affiliated with “Democrat” because they (falsely) claim that Democrats are are “baby killers” – which again, is a rather simplistic and erroneous presumption, because they CANNOT understand that a loss of freedom through government intrusion into one’s personal and private and healthcare life means a loss of freedom for EVERYONE. If the government can tell you what to do with your body concerning your healthcare, where does it end?
And it is my considered opinion that they CANNOT and DO NOT see that there is ANY difference between government and religion. They are, in essence, the modern Christianized version of Sharia law. And they CANNOT see, nor do they understand. The are, as Jesus the Christ said, “the blind leading the blind.”
