A Vote to Bang Her: Mike Tyson on Sarah Palin

Posted by Warm Southern Breeze on Wednesday, September 21, 2011

Yep.

Ol’ Mike Tyson has recently been heard on “sports” radio dishing on ex-Alaska governor, Sarah “Quitter” Palin.

Why?

It seems that a newly published book – The Rogue: Searching for the Real Sarah Palin, by Joe McGinniss – has made claims that among other things, Palin snorted cocaine, was sexually promiscuous, and with a Black man at that.

It seems that the very mention of two people of differing ethnicity engaging in coitus remains taboo. Why, I do not know.

Nevertheless, Tyson apparently recently appeared on the radio show “Gridlock” on KWWN – a Las Vegas, NV ESPN affiliate – and made great mock of Palin, based upon the allegations published in McGinniss’ book.

Among the guffaws were these remarks by Tyson: “[I]n life in general you know… everybody got to get that out of their system when they get out of college. If you’re a black man, every white girl, every uppity middle class… everybody got to get their share of love. She could always get boned out by a black person, a vote to bang her. Other than a vote to run office, the only thing she can do… she’s not a bad person because she likes black people at least in her.

My objective in sharing this is to illustrate the coarseness with which American politics has tracked in the past several years. One needn’t support a candidate’s positions to espouse a civil tone in political discourse and campaigning. That is true for any political stand. It is precisely the lack of civility that concerns me.

Politics is about the intersection of ideas and people.

People are worthy of dignity, honor and respect. That goes for all people.
